I wanted some action and here it goes.
Changed the tusks too, my roommate liked the bigger ones better. I gave it a try and: I like them too :D

I took some artistic liberties: I changed the leather skirt into a loincloth and left away the dagger sheaths. I thought these things would obscure the view *wink wink*

But to be honest, the surprised pose is still my favorite.

Except for the faces these Jaghut look distinctly human. I wonder if perhaps there was any difference in the way their bodies looked. We know for example that their ... thumbs? Are multi jointed.

Yay for nipples! :p

To be honest myself, I like the surprised one better, too. The colours are warmer and somehow more natural, it's not so comic-like.
As I said, the charging huntress is more fanservice-pinup and for fun, mostly for my fun :D.
But I'm still very happy with her, I can see with every pic that I get faster and better producing digital art. I got my tablet for christmas and now I'm unstopable, harr harr! XD

Aww, thanks!!! <3 I'm so glad that you like it!
I'm very happy that I gave the bigger tusks a chance. Plus I really wanted to get it right. That some of the other artists kind of hid the face under the hair gave me the extra motivation to come up with a beautiful bestial jaghut face. :p
(you can't imagine how often I draw and deleted and redraw the mouth :))

Wow. Totally overlooked the finger thing. But then again so did the artist that did raest :( so i think we are all safe on this one lol.

@mimo. Nice work on the action pose. I think just as an aside u seem to
have taken out the fetishes i saw in your 1st version. Personaly i love
that little extra u gave the character :p

Mmh, I took out the fetishes to minimalise the artistic liberties (oh yes, I admit, I wanted to please SE with accuracy :()
But I could update now that the entries are out and away.

btw: I think we concentrated too hard on the huntress-quote. Perhaps this finger-thing would have come to our minds if we had made a random jaghut-pic. But if it's just said once, there is a chance that SE himself has forgotten about it XD.

Deepest apologies for not dealing with this sooner. Spent a week with SE and have had other things on my mind.

First, Steve wants it to be clear that he has judged based on 'closeness of vision' rather than artistic merit, ie., closeness in terms of how he views the character and species.

On this basis, Spindrift's submission is the closest in terms of physique and Corporal Nobbs conveys the sense of menace best, so we have joint winners! He also noted that the skin colour of both of the winning entries could be darker if either of our winners care to refine their efforts further.

As time was short, I had SE sign the books using your forum names, hope this is acceptable :veryangry:

Once again, thanks very much to all who participated in this contest and keep up the good work!

@Spindrift: could you PM your address details to Hetan so we can send you your book.

congrats to the winners!

I'd really like to know which of spindrifts versions was considered to be closest in terms of physique. Since there where quite some mix and match-pics, it would be great to get closer to "the real thing" for my own work.

Mmh, I guess it would be too much to ask for EVERY SINGLE COMMENT Steven Erikson made about EVERY SINGLE PICTURE. *hops around in hysterics*
