My order was delayed because our old bank card stopped working and I had to change the details of the order to the new one, it won't be coming till the 11th, when I'll be safely ensconced within Catton Park waiting drinking stupid amounts of booze with thousands of other metal heads. So I'm going to get to play No Man's Sky at all until the 15th now, meanwhile I know at least 2 people who's copies came today, I am very much unhappy about this situation!

So I've been playing Rogue Galaxy and enjoying the visuals, the cool music and travelling about exploding ships by the bucketload. I bought a massive space freighter and have been getting rich on the water and salt trade. My lasers slice through enemy vessels like butter, and running blockades is a breeze with my massive engines.
Then suddenly I lost interest. Turned it off and read the new Mieville book instead. I guess I'll be buying No Man's Sky to fill that sci fi-game hole.

Unless you broke out your PS2 I assume you mean Rebel Galaxy.
What would you compare Rebel galaxy to? I remember it getting a favorable reception when it came out, I just didn't really see the appeal, even though I sort of like the idea of being a redneck space captain in space.

Yeah, Rebel Galaxy. Hm, I don't know exactly. It felt a little like a sandbox kind of freespace? Where the main part of the plot is travelling between systems and planets, doing quests and trading. Buying new ships, weapons and so forth. It is quite beautiful, but there's not so much variation when it comes to scenery.
Though you never get those awesome, spectacular space battles of Freespace 2. Now that's a HD remake I'd buy for the PS4.

The new Deus Ex is out today.
I feel like I should be buying it.
Otoh, I don't think I gamed since June (still need to go back and finish the Witcher 3 DLC). The summer weather's been so gorgeous i'm usually not home until 9-10 PM, and then way too tired to process stuff on computer screen.
Also, there's more stuff coming down the pipe as story DLC. And I really don't care for Adam Jensen as a character.
Also, apparently it comes bundled with Denuvo. I haven't had that on my PC yet- only "modern" game I purchased recently was Witcher 3, and that was DRM-free. So I'm wary of putting super-DRM on my PC, since I often disconnect my gaming PC from Internet.

I bought The Banner Saga II as I loved the first game. I've just barely stepped out of the tutorial and it's just as charming and sad as the previous one.

It's great so far. No real innovation or upgrade from Human Revolution but still a great RPG.
Never had any issues with Denuvo but then again I am not sure how that system even works. Does it only show up if you're disconnected from the internet?

I've been meaning to pick that one up but never really felt in the mood. I loved the first one.

I gave Rebel Galaxy a try. Lasted about 15 minutes before I took it off. Holy shit that combat system is awful.

Bought Looterkings two days ago. It is about naked goblins who run through a lot of dungeos and try to loot everything. You can even steal from your friends or revive them with a kick in the stomach. Beating skeletons with a birdhouse is also very satisfying.
And I love the design

EA put Mirror's Edge and The Saboteur up on GOG.
Saboteur is going on my wishlist, but Mirror's Edge I need NAO.

GOG started a "back to school" sale.
Not crazy about any of the big releases, but I've wishlisted a bunch of older indie games- Toren, Titan Souls, Kyn, Skyshine Bedlam and Ronin. Might grab a few towards the end of the sale.
Edit: and then I read the description for Soldak games. And Drox operative looks like an ARPG version of this awesome old shareware game "Solar Winds" that I loved to death.
...
And now Klei games are on sale, and I get to cash in 2 paychecks this week, b/c I also still have my paycheck for when I was on vacation.
I can almost hear my wallet crying.

Well, Frak! I broke down today and bought the starter pledge pack for Star Citizen and Squadron 42. Beyond a few bugs I've experienced, which is to be expected, and the fact that there's not much to do yet (because it's still in alpha), it's actually pretty fun.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

GOG.com - "good old games" iirc, but basically it's like Steam, except with zero DRM and a focus on older, more classic games (though these days they have a lot more of everything else than they used to).
