Nathan Fillion for Ganoes Paran.

Also, Johnny Depp as Coltaine has me dry heaving.

..me too, but not as much as Kelsey Grammer as Icarium!

The little bald guy from The Princess Bride could play Kruppe.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Jada Pinkett-Smith as Laseen is a good call, although I don't know the actress Grim wants as Lostara.

Damian Lewis is also spot on for Fiddler.

Nice to see some of the pics you use to reference your art Grim, Nightchill and QOD in particular.Posted Image

Definitely agree with the guy from Fringe for QB, probably the first thing I thought when I first saw him. The huge black guy from Lost (I'm terrible at remembering actors names and too lazy to look them up) could probably also do a good Kalam, at least looks wise. I know there was some discussion along those lines in the art forum a while back.

I like the idea of the guy from 300 as Whiskeyjack Grimhide, and the man with the scar for Coltaine.

How about Hilary Swank for Tavore, she fits how Tvore was described.
Bill Nighy for Kallor, his also got that lined aged face? and Ben Barnes from Prince Caspian for Paran?

A few suggestions:

Shadowthrone: Eddie Murphy
Captain Kindly: Bruce Willis
Tayschrenn: David Thewlis (with a bit of tanning)
Korbolo Dom: Brendan Gleeson

Bruce Willis would make an amazing Carteron Crust.
Al Pacino for Shadowthrone, his customary overacting will be a wonder to behold.
Christian Bale would be my Ganoes Paran of choice, personally, he'd just have to break his nose and cut of an ear at some point.

I always thought the Dal Hon looked African. Maybe they could give Robert Downey Jnr treatment (ala Tropic Thunder) to Al Pacino, I think he would make a pretty good Shadowthrone.

aye, expensive tanning was of course included :). Desmond Tutu of course would have been the very best ST, but sadly, he has a different calling :p. Morgan Freeman is also a candidate.

Hehe, yeah. I've also used a couple of the other photos for references for some new portraits:)

300-guy's name is Vincent Regan and man with scar is Tommy Flanagan:)

I think Swank for Tavore is a great idea, I'll add her to my list.

Bill Nighy is awesome, but I personally much prefer Christopher Walken as Kallor, I mean just look at his face:

Attached File  Kallor.jpg (48.31K)

But Bill Nighy should definitely be in the movie. Who else could he play?

Ben Barnes, now there's an interesting thought. He has that noble-look about him, and is roughly the same age. yes, that could work:)

That guy looks way too happy to be Quick, he doesnt have the menace the guy from Fringe has. I don't know about Morgan Freeman for Shadowthrone - He was the first thought I had, but I've seen him play the kindly old man too often, I dont know if I could take him seriously as Shadowthrone. He is a good actor though, if he could pull off ST it would be one helluva good performance.

What about the rest of the Phoenix Inn regulars? Rallick and Murrillio aren't the biggest characters in the book, but the fete is one of the key scenes in the book, so you'd need pretty decent actors for everyone there.

And - who should voice Tool?

Brian Blessed, who should do ALL voiceovers.

But seriously, Christian Bale in his Batman voice - its gravelly.

edit: Mickey Rourke as Coll.
Gabriel Byrne as the councilman Rallick kills.
Ray Stevenson (Pullo in Rome) as Mallet.
Kenneth Cranham (Pompey in the same series) as Baruk.

Also, David Schwimmer as the obnoxious Bole Brother who isn't in Deadhouse Gates :)

But the Fringe-guy is downright creepy, and doesn't seem to posess a sense of humour, nor a mischeivous side...

How bout this guy as Murillio:

I think even whispering about making these books into film should be punished with summary combustion. I cringe at what may come of HBO's Song of Ice and Fire and how it will effect the later books.

Heheh. There was an official script of a Chain of Dogs movie being worked upon by some of Erikson's associates, but we haven't had any updates for ages, so it's likely been abandoned. But it's not quite so heretical :)

Anyway, it's highly unlikely HBO's series could possibly have a negetive affect on aSoIaF, since Feast for Crows was so bad...

Dominic West would be smooth as Murillio.

Liam Neeson as the voice of Tool

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the only character I envisage as a person in the real world is Quick Ben as the guy from Faithless.
