Favourite character from aSoIaF

I'm almost finished A Feast for Crows, and I'm loving the series. There is an alarming lack of proper heroes though - the whole thing just smacks of real life. It's full to brim with anti heroes or anti villains, depending on your view point; which is what I love about it.
Thought I'd see if anyone else likes the characters in these books.
My favs are the Clegane brothers. (Gregor doesnt have many redeeming features I realise, he could be one of the only all out bad guys)

My favorite is the person they are building that new giant suit of armour for ... I think it's for your mum.

I always found that Tyrion was too obviously supposed to be my favourite character to actually be, but I'm in a minority there...

I've always liked Tyrion and Jon's POV's and in the later books Jaime's.
I also like the " lesser" character's story arcs, like Brienne, Beric Dondarrion and The Onion Knight. Fair play to Martin, he's a slow bastard but he can write a good character.

I do like Tyrion, but he's way far from being my favourite. That should be the Hound followed by Roose Bolton( yes, I like all the nice people, don't I?)

I couldn't stand any of the Starks really, apart from Jon Snow - even he was borderline. Littlefinger has always been the most interesting character so I'll got for him

I never really liked Tyrion but I can't put my finger on why. Maybe (like our PolishGenius said) he's too obviously the one we're supposed to root for. Honestly, if I had to pick a favorite I'd say Jaime as well. I hated him at first but he sort of grew on me. See Gothos's spoiler window as to why.
A close second would be Brienne, a distant third would be Daenerys.

@Bauchalain, I love Roose Bolton. I like the way he can terrify people without ever seeming to get angry.
@Dolorous, for me Tywin is one of the best written characters in fantasy literature. He's such a fucking badass you cant help loving him.

been that long since i read the series but would have to say Jon Snow!
Was so looking forward to Dance of Dragons been released this year but yet again, the book gets delayed, George seriously needs a shake

Tywin Lannister, Jamie Lannister, and Sansa Stark.
I agree that Tyrion does strike the reader that he is the obvious character we are supposed to root for.
One character I'm not keen on is Arya Stark. Unlike her sister, Arya seems a bit like the typical fantasy cliche, that of the plucky girl who learns arts of pyhysical survival and thiefcraft and who is not the typical air-head. Those characters are a dime-a-dozen in fantasy.(although Martin writes her very well) I preferred Sansa becasue she IS the typical air-head character at the start of the story and was a refreshing change of pace. Especially when she is held in Kings Landing against her will and slowly learns that all of her dreams were naive bullshit.

in agreement over here, but dinklage is going to make him even more likeable.
Favourite character is tough, I never found there was character I liked massively like a WJ or Kalam. Closest I remotely had to that Jon snow had to kill, but I forget his name.
I suppose over all, hes a minor character, Bronn is my favourite

Used to like Arya, Jon, Danerys and Rob stark. Brienne, Jamie, Asha are also good.

Pretty sure there has to be another aSoIaF thread around here...
anyway fave character is Jon Snow - he knows nothing. Tyrion and Daenarys are the other main protagonists, and they keep the story going. Feast was utter cr@p, story barely went anywhere (no main character POV's) and it's been 5 years since that meandering tripe was launched. Prior to that was an awesome series, and hopefully will get back on track with Dance (if it ever gets complete).
In the meantime, if you loved the books, you'll also love the calenders, figurines, RPG's, replica weapons, posters, comics, from aSoIaF, as well as slightly damp copies of previous books I've done which I'll happily sign to make up for the dampness.

My favorite character is probably Danerys at this point, although through the books, it changed many times. One minor char who I like and think will play a much bigger role to come is the fat coward (can't remember his name) friend of Jon's in Nights Watch. It just seems to me he's being set up to play a pivotal role.
@Macros-Agreed on Bronn, one of the most well-written characters in the series. I actually loved most of all of Tyrion's merry band of barbarians.
