PORTRAITS (or just people) I figure this can include things like music and sport too?

Since the other threads have covered animals, and a selections of inanimate subjects, I suppose I may as well start a thread for portraits of various kinds. I don't really shoot portraits much myself, unless you include sports and live music. So I'll open up with a few shots i took at 2 separate RODRIGO Y GABRIELA gig in Cork City a few years ago. Fantastic gigs, and despite the tricky lighting conditions, i managed to get a few decent pics. Flash wasn't allowed at all.

The first gig was awesome fun since the venue was so small, i could practically reach out and touch them while they played. Main problem was the extreme lack of light, which meant a lot of shots were ruined by my shaky hands. I got to talk to them afterwards and show them the pics on my camera screen, and managed to get permission to shoot their soundcheck for the next time they came down to my home city.

Of course the day i'm there, the soundcheck was a shambles, and with tempers fraying i didn't really want to go near them to shoot any pics. I did get to see the gig the next day when everything was sorted out, and got some nice shots, but again the lack of light made things tough. The shutter speed was really low, and yet i couldn't even rely on leaning against a wall, or the edge of the stage, cos the whole venue was vibrating from the soundsystem, and people tapping their feet on the floorboards. A unique photographic experience I'm telling you.

Anyway, hope you like the shots.

Dude I freaking love Rodrigo y Gabriela, they have some serious mad skillz...

Continuing on the subject of music, I have a couple that are pretty good, though most are taken from my phone (the kind of concerts I go to are not camera-friendly...) So apologies if any are shockingly bad. I like them for various reasons though.

And I'm still quite in awe of how clear this one came out...

And finally a non-music related picture, a beautiful shot of our very own Mezla...

Night-time tomfoolery. I was very pleased with how clear it is, considering it's an action shot.

This was in an aquarium, I just always thought it was a funny picture.

The subject of this picture is the car, but it has people in it anyway :(

Some self-portraits. Not very flattering but I like them anyway :p Taken in Tampere outside a small art gallery.

Forum seems kinda buggy today. Gonna try again posting these pics, which I think belong in this thread (third time lucky?) - taken last summer at Waken Open Air in Germany...
