Some fantastic photos posted here, and Wroclaw`s architecture is absolutely stunning.
I just got my new Nikon D3100 this morning, with a Nikkor AF-S 18-105mm VR lens, and am slowly learning what everything does.
Only had a chance to take a couple shots out the window as I was reading through the manual and tinkering with the various settings before it started snowing quite heavily, trapping me indoors, but here are a couple of the somewhat more decent photos, in all their craptastic splendour (as well as some even worse night shots that I just took a few moments ago, without a tripod):
1) Looking more or less south along Church street, we have the townhomes along McGill st in the foreground, Ryerson University`s Kerr Hall in the middle, and Sp!re condos in the distance (the beautiful, tall glass building), as well as the absolutely hideous Campus Commons building (the multicoloured red, orange and white monstrosity), to the left of which is the much more beautiful Merchandise Building, now converted to lofts:

2) More or less the same view, albeit zoomed in on Sp!re:
3 And again, in black and white:
4) CN tower poking out in the background:
5) Night shot of Granby street, in colour outline:
6) Original Granby st, photo:
7) Night shot of Kerr hall:
8) And again:
The first 4 photos were all shot at a shutter speed of 1/125s, with an aperture size of f5.6 (except the CN Tower photo, at 5.3), and ISO of 100.
Started to play a bit more with thhe settings while taking the night photos, with the Granby photo (no. 6) shot at 1/13s, f 7.1 and ISO 3200, the first Kerr Hall photo (no. 7) at 1/8s, f5.6, iso 1600, and the second Kerr Hall photo (no. 8) at at 5s, f20, iso 1600.
I`ll hopefully have some much better photos to post from around Toronto in the (not too distant) future, but until than, I`d appreciate any advice and criticism
And yes, I totally need to get a tripod.
"But I saw you [Snake]…faced by Anomander [Mandy] himself. How did…"
"I escape? Well, I dazzled him with fancy words, edging ever closer, then used my ninja skills to strike like a cobra, knocking the sword [Spamnipur] away and drop-kicking him over the side before tumbling backwards, slaying another Piss'd Andii on the way."
Silence. Lots of silence. "Fine!" He shrugged and grinned, "Someone hit him in the face with a coin, and he cursed just long enough for me to get away." ~ Excerpt from Gardens of the Tea Spoon
