I'm fairly confused as to why Shadowthrone shows up at the end and gives gifts to the group. He sends most of them to places they want to be and such, but why exactly? It's by no means obvious as to why he is rewarding them. He mentions that Fiddler was a loyal soldier and such, but why now, at the end of the book after all their struggles?

Kalam and Minal were being taken down by the Claw. Fid and co show up just in time and take out the rest of the Claw. Apt was still watching out for Kalam and pulls them all into Meanas, drawing ST's attention.
Apsalar and her dad performed a service for Shadow by completeing the false Path of hands, so in return ST sends them home and Crockus goes along.
Because Apt has provided ST with 1300 new child servants, St owes her a favour. She transfers the favour to Kalam who asks for an opportunity to recover with Minala, so ST sends them to the 1300 rescued kids. Nice.
ST doesn't owe Fid anything since Fid did nothing for him, but all Fid wants is to re-enlist so ST drops him back on Malaz Island.
So he isn't rewarding them, rather, he is repaying debts, except for Fid who he basically acknowledges a historical loyalty and drops him off.
- Abyss, would have opted for cash.
