Hi all,
Here's my attempt at a map of Quon Tali - not perfect by any means, but a first attempt!

All comments and criticism appreciated - there's plenty of room to improve...

It's a very lovely looking map. Am curious as to how you came to draw it's outline. Have you just added some (very nice) topographical and colour detail to a map from one of the novels? Or is it based on written descriptions, intuition and guesswork like we had for the world map a couple of years ago.

Long story short, map is very nice. Good work. Would like to see more.

Hmm. I'm pretty much sure that Falar is an arcipelagus but apart from that, it'sa pretty nice map. Good work!

Well, the map is based very closely on the map from House of Chains. It's very nice as well, although perhaps putting on the cities from the more detailed version from TBH and RotCG could be an idea? Or at least those locations that are important in the books, like Itko Kan? The size of the map also makes it look like Geni, the Napan Isles, Malaz, Kartool and the Falari Islands should be on there as well.

'Falar' is a region consisting of both islands and the northern-most parts of Quon Tali, or so I believe, with Delans, Strike and Walk being the major cities in the islands and Falair being the main mainland city.

I like it! The only thing I would change is that the border of the Dal Hon forest looks unnaturally straight (and also, as already mentioned, the city is called 'Falair', not 'Falar'). Very pretty!

Thanks for the comments, all!

@Binder of Demons:

Well, using the two maps I had, I took the outline from one and combined it (altering scales slightly, of course) with geography from the other, then added, using this information, topographical detail like you said. Posted Image I did have to use a little intuition, though - mainly aesthetically. Posted Image Thanks!

@Bauchelain the Evil:

Well, partly. But the map only depicted the mainland area, though I've now updated it - thanks for the comment.

@Grimhilde:

Thanks!

@Werthead:

Thanks for the suggestions! I've just updated the map with those in mind. I've expanded it to show Falar, Malaz Island, Geni, etc, and corrected Falar (hadn't noticed that one - thanks!). Added Itko Kan as well. Thanks!

@D'Rek:

Thanks! I've changed the border now.

Here's my second version (with islands!):

I took a guess here from the ice fields, but I need verification - what's Falar's climate like?

Any corrections for Falar? I just can't find a reference to correct me. :D

There's only the one geographical reference (map in one of the books somewhere). Don't see any problems. If you really, really, REALLY want to nitpick, there might be one tiny island missing at the far north, but I'm not even sure on that (see the copy of the book map in the gallery, it has a squiggle up there, lol).

Awesome stuff Edielin! What can we do to foster your ambition and make you do an enormous world map...?! Posted Image

Thanks!

@D'rek: Lol *Goes to check* - thanks for the comment! As for the world map, all I can say is: I'll give it a go. :( One continent at a time. :p

@caladanbrood: Thanks! I used Photoshop, mostly using a few preparatory patterns I created for grass, etc - otherwise, trial and error saved the day. :p

The map reminds me of the lovely forest in TES IV. Oblivion...
