That whole romance between Paran and Tattersail totally didn't work for me. I liked the two chracters but it all happened way too fast. I mean they had only just met and two minutes later they are having sex and talking like Romeo and Juliet. I can't remember exact quotes (and correct me if I'm wrong) but I'm sure there is some point when Tattersail says to him that she's never felt like this about anyone before, or something to that effect. Not to mention the fact that her old lover Calot was only killed about a week or so before all this. I'm not an overly romantic person but that seems pretty cold to me. I mean the guy isn't even cold (of course he is in the physical sense), and already she jumping into bed with some other guy and telling him he's the only one who ever rocked her world.
Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but that was the major flaw in the book for me. Their romance should either have had more of a build up or been... well more about sex and conforting each other than actaul Romance.
But that's just my opinion. What do you think?
