I had been hoping people would see it the same way Tellan and I have seen it and would let the noob live a day or two. But alas I will be adding my vote tohis train later more than likely. I don't think it's symping in any form. I don't think the players knows enough about how to play at that.

That is a no win scenario and you know it.
I don't know if we are on the same team at this point, but it was so blatant that even I went "WTF"? Why he jumped like that? I will not know until I read spoilers. My money is he is new and thinks that is how we lynch people. He doesn't know to be cautious when deciding to get on a lynch train, and to have a reason to follow a case.
So he denies that Barghast is symping, or at least brushes it off as horrible n00b behaviour. Plausible enough, I guess. I'm curious though, were you willing to let beru live a day or two as well Tellan? IIRC,you jumped on the connection from the get go. Although I don't think you voted for him.
He does stay true to his word though:

I have to leave for a few hours so I am going to move my vote.
remove vote/ vote barghast
here's hoping he's not on my team.
Last line could be a distancing tactic. As could all of his previous statements have been though, I suppose.
Like I said though, his comment on strategy was possibly revealing, depending on how you look at it.

That and The Cullens. Just on principals
So, I think it is fairly safe to assume the two scum teams(evil vampires and the coven) are killer factions. Destroying both of them is a victory condition for the Cullens.

So you could view the joke as being a distancing tactic from that particular faction, and the whole thing as trying to appear town. I hate it because of the infuriating spelling of the word 'principles', but that's just me. Couple that with the fact that beru turned out to be a vampire...I dunno, like I said, it is made complicated by beru's lack of subtlety. Either way though, we hit a Cullen or scum, so good result for town in any case.
EDIT: damn copying leaves out spaces.
