Pike was the Man Trap but wasn't actually the second captain of the Enterprise NCC 1701 in TOS. Wasn't it Robert something?

Oh, just the NCC 1701? Then I don't even think I know this one.

And when you asked your question were you asking for televisual chronology, or stardate chronology? Cuz if you're asking about stardate chronology it was captain Archer.

Wrong again. That Enterprise was never a Federation Vessel. It was a starfleet vessel, but the Federation didn't exist at the time.

Right, as even P-S is picking fights with me I am going to my cabin to sleep.

Edit: about the TG joke, not the Star Trek question.

iirc he never said Federation vessel, he said the USS Enterprise. The first Enterprise starship was a passenger liner and no captain is ever named for it. The first one with a known captain is the NX-01 whose captain was Jonathan Archer.

But we talking about the NCC 1701 line of Enterprise.

Now can anyone list all the NCC 1701 line of Enterprises and what ship class they are.

Also Johnathon Archer ship was the Enterprise not USS Enterprise

I really am going to bed, but imo if the great GR Posted Image , didn't have a hand in it it aint Trek, and the great GR Posted Image said Robert April was the first Captain, so 'nuff said.

Just a very good memory. It's a shame I don't have the encyclopedias.

You're right, the Enterprise was not a USS. Okay, you win. Twas April.

Now, the NCC-1701 was a Constitution class starship. I think the 1701 A was the same, but I'm not sure.

NCC 1701 B came next, followed by C and I don't know what either of those were classified.

NCC 1701 D was a Galaxy class and is the one we all know from TNG. The NCC 1701 E is a really cool one, but again I'm afraid I can't give you the classification, though this one is right on the tip of my tongue :p And the F has not been built yet.

I am annoyed to come back and find only menial discussion of semantics. Pike was the first captain on the show, ERGO HE IS THE ONLY FIRST CAPTAIN THAT MATTERS.

He's also the captain of the Enterprise in the legit movie reboot that came out earlier this year.

I fail to see how your arguments against these facts are anything but failure.

Cause the legit reboot starts in an alternate reality. Where this "Enterprise" is not a cruiser strength ship but more comparable to a battleship in size. It's twice as big. In this reality April could have been killed. Also TOS reality Kirk was Captain in his mid 30's in the new reality he becomes the youngest Captain in Starfleet History in his Early 20's. Instead of Captain Picard who became Captain at 30 years old, if I remember correctly.

Nice to see lots of new faces about the place, though the names are all a bit similar for my liking.

Unfortunately my Star Trek knowledge is limited to knowing what the hand signal looks like and the phrase "Beam Me Up, Scotty!" I don't know how much help that is going to be in the current discussion about differing chronologies, unfortunately.

The reboot is alternate universe like the parallel universe like seen in Mirror, Mirror which got revisited in DS9 in episode such as The Emperor's New Cloak.

So In fact what happened in TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY are still valid.
