Also, I wouldn't worry too much about getting the 500 posts by the end of day - we can go up multiple levels at a time and we'll easily have that by the end of night. Surely you aren't saying you have amazing abilities that you need to have tonight at level 2??!

Hmm let me see 35 posts away from 500 posts on a day one or stop. You sir are lazy and I will have no of it. Now get busy and finish this off.

As far as Omtose's case on me:

'He pointed out something he thought was suspicious, but didn't vote. He must be laying a foundation."

I think you are reaching. I saw something that stood out. Others saw it too. I just happened to be one of the first. Any particular reason why you have come to Ruin's defense twice now? I find that suspicious on day 1.. though a bit blatent.

The point is that the entire reason people are voting for him is a load of crap, everything hes said can easily be inferred or is blatantly stated in the OP and because some people cant read theyre jumping on him because he did.

Well it looks like there are 10 people on right now so there is still a chance to switch targets. I removed my vote as to not allow scum to finish him off.

For the record, these are from the OPs:

Throughout the game, lover links will be established, changed andbroken. These can be between different factions and between spies andscum. Be careful what you reveal.

and:

"Unfortunately, we had no team on the island. Gremio would never havemade that speech had we kept the leash tight on him, madame."
"What is done, is done. No team. Infiltrators?"

I am most suspicious of Emur and Galain, as they voted for me after Omtose pointed out that first quote, which is really all I was trying to say: don't trust the people you are communicating with. It says it in the OP. Clearly none of you read it, so I was correct in my decision to reiterate it.

This lynch on me is lazy and misguided.

The lynch on you is lazy and I think that I will remove my vote for a while. In the end though you are past the point of no return and are most likely going to be the person lynched on day one.

Remove Vote

Yeah, I do indeed see the writing on the wall, but the optimist in me still can't let go, especially with the amount of people that are online at the moment. If they all woke up, the vote could theoretically swing onto someone else.

1 - why announce in the rules the structure of role pms when a fake reveal or a real reveal result in modkill? i bring this up as the only example of where syndicate is used.
2 - why would ALL the scum require the nationality of a town faction if in the cf they come back as scum? (this is regard to a post made by pathshaper about scum being dispersed between the factions and the cf info given as well)

You're forgetting the whole making and breaking lovers connections in this game. Reveals aren't allowed on-thread, but they can be used in private PMs. Likewise, CFs might say scum on-thread, but you could reveal nationality to your fake lovers, as well.

Oh, and since its the most likely lych we're gonna get,

vote Silchas

Also, while I noticed the mention of scum as syndicate, nowhere in the OP do I recall mention of syndicate infiltration of our teams. PS only recently gave us that info, and Silchas seemed to have it from the start. Thus I suspect he's a scum that has infiltrated a team.

OK, while I do not want to interfere with lynches, I would like to correct this view. From the sign-up thread, which, as I said, should have been read with the utmost attention:

Quote

While the game is scum versus town, town is also divided in 4 factions, of which only 1 can win. Moreover, the scum hides amongst the different town factions. To determine which town faction wins, we use a point scoring system (see below for the clarification). This is new to Mafia, afaik, and some of you may hate it. So be it, but I wanted to try this.

This was in the sign up? seriously with signups i just write "in" and leave most of the time. also things change between signups and actual games all the time, especially ones i run. argghhhhh.

remove vote

god damnit, this annoys me. If its not in the game thread i assume silchas got it from his pm as thats the only other place for such specific info.

Well I just reread Korvalain on page 8 and I just don't like it.
The posts:

In response to Gamelon talking about Silchas and him knowing the syndicate/whose on what teams stuff.

Quote

I think you might be reading a bit too much into what seems to me to be simple confusion about the rules, or mechanics if you will.

I think his prolonged absence following the votes is by far more telling.

I mean prolonged absence on day 1 is telling after a couple joke votes? I found that pretty reaching.

Ironically the next post is in fact Silchas himself so that kinda removes that plan - in fact he gives us the pah.

He then find Omtose fishy, doesn't say why though its very suspicious apparently

Quote

pah..

Omtose is also prett fishy to my mind. #73, his only post I think, made me very suspicious.

He then gets called out by Omtose saying it was obvious in the OP and backtracks

Quote

Very is not the right word perhaps, but this thing just stood out to me. Coupled with a substansial lack of activity following this seems suspicious to me. Again though, it's a gut feeling and thus hard to pin down.

I dunno, there's just the... tone... that seems to match my own posting pattern when playing scum. Not posting anything else fans the flame a little. It's risky for killers to be out day 1, whereas the innos benefit as a team from talking.

Then there's this which he just seems to be confused in

Quote

Aye, that seems a decent interpretation. I'm not as of yet truly able to make heads or tails of this game.. I will though. One day the shining light of absolute enlightenment will kiss my wrinkled brow and all will be revealed.

...Did Silchas go away again?

And no wonder he is confused as he then says

Quote

I thought it came quite clear out of the text Tapper demaneded on pain of death that we read. but maybe I'm remembering it wrong

So he knows we're meant to read the OP on pain of death. Yet he's suspicious when people bring up infomation found in the OP?

Next

Quote

Yeah. I'm always suspicious of people who defend other people on day 1. A strange paranoia perhaps, but the scum tend to be in the forefront of that department.

When people bring up the fact it was all in the OP its now suspicious behaviour.

Next up, Gamelon mentions it says spies vs scum in one part of the OP
Korvalain reacts with

Quote

Ah.. Curious then. I just figured it was the word used as I came into the thread late. Makes Silchas more suspicious, though I'd not go as far as say it's particularly damning.

Then I think its Emurlahn who comes along and repeats similiar things and votes for Silchas.

And its only after Emurlahn (or Meanas) comes along and votes that Korvalain is then willing to put his vote down. (Vote number 4 I believe).

Essentially it reads to me like someone whose really keen on the lynch, but is trying to hedge his bets and poke more people in that direction. When finally someone else jumps he goes to and really gets the train going. I just didn't like it the way it went, he seemed thats the lynch we're doing today and nothing will stop me.

Anyway

Vote Korvalain

Dunno how much time is left, but a reasonable read of the OP gave anyone with a brain the same info Silchas Ruin is saying and being voted on so I'm looking elsewhere.

Part of the problem is that your team doesn't know who you are and so can't defend you, and if they do then they don't want to be obvious about it. So no one is likely to move to another target for fear of hitting one of their own team members.

Kaschan, you have to type the following to get it to quote on the fly properly:

[fakequote name=PUTNAMEHERE']
quoted text

[/quote]

Obviously use [quote and not fakequote

At this point I don't see any other case having a chance of succeeding before the time runs out and I fully endorse the idea of a day 1 lynch for its own sake.
