Greetings, I've just started my decent down the rabbit hole. Rereading GotM after finishing it. Can't wait to begin DG.

Hey everybody! I read up to the end of Midnight Tides a few years ago, and then stopped. Now I am back and plan to read them all from the beginning. My curiosity has not let me stay away.

Think of it as the Swamp of Sadness scene in The Neverending Story expanded into an entire novel.

Perhaps the best reply I've ever seen:)

You cannot be a noob anymore if you have lived through the events in DG and MoI. You're a veteran now. Welcome to the family. Let us know your impressions and questions!

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Uhh impressions: I love it. Especialy the Chain of Dog´s storyline was, so far, my favorit one. I have to admit allthough, that I read the stuff in german. I was so thrilled that I´m planning to use the background in one of my hobbies, Live-Action-Roleplaying. So far I found two more malazan-enthusiast´s who want to join me, we´re planning to start if we reach 5+, one weak mage, one sergeant and three grumpy marines are our starting-goal for a group. The feeling we want to achieve we discribe as medievel-high-fantasy-vietnam.
The question would be, had anyone here any experiences in that direction or thoughts to the matter.

Hi Honey-Badger. Good to see you made it here. Good luck with the LARP! Maybe you should visit re-enactment festivals and get participants into reading the Malazan Book of the Fallen and then recruit them :(

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I've finished my first read through all the MBotF and Kharkanas books, I've read dancer's lament and orb scepter throne from ICE.

I plan to start GotM again and pay more attention to detail this time around.

Hi, I started this fantastic series years ago. Only stopped because I was driving truck and could never find the next one.
But now I'm back into it, read the first one again to familiarize myself.and the second one is waiting on my kobo.

Hello everyone! Ive been a fan of the books for quite awhile. I've read all the books including fall of light and dancers lament, I have also done a few rereads of the main series. I still find myself utterly confused at many things and can't wait to delve into this forum to get a bunch of answers.

So this is the first time I've used any kind of forum, I'm unsure if i am even typing in the correct box right now but i suppose the learning curve needs a start point.

Ive recently started my 2nd read through of the book of the fallen. Just about to finish Deadhouse Gates again. The only books I've yet to read are the Kharkanas pair and Dancer's Lament.

I decided that this time i needed someone to talk to about this amazing world. Look forward to many an in-depth discussion.

Thanks
Gardner.

Hi ! I'm new here but not to the malazan series. I'm halfway through the bomehunters. However I bet I'm the only one who does audiobooks versus the "real" book. I have lots and lots of work to do and listen to the books while doing my work. I'm almost 40 and a stay at home mom but nothing about my taste in books could be stereotyped. I hate love and relationship books. I immediately discard books which don't engage all my mind and if I can figure out the plot of similarities, I give up on the book series all together.
I have read a lot and consider myself fairly capable of meta thinking but this is the first series I have ever had to actually make my own set of notes and timeline and look up fan art to clarify exactly what in the world is going on.
Found malazan after reading Robert Jordan. I must say I am not an atypical female and bet I am outnumbered here but I love the challenges and complexity of the world created. Unique.
Go ahead and make fun of my name. I could truly care less. I have named 2 children and 8 dogs and I'm not in the generation where coming up with awesome screen usernames in a hobby. I'm keeping it real.

Like so many others, doing a re-read of the series and just wanted to find a place to find others as in love with this stuff as me! Just finished Dancer's Lament and now on to DHG! Read the books originally when they were initially coming out, so i'm sure i'll read lots that i have forgotten. Looking forward to it all once again :)

Hello everyone. Just found this series of books on Audible and will listen to all ten of them from this source.

Just wanted to express my gratitude to all of you who have contributed to this website...being able to get some background as I'm delving into this complicated maze has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of it.

Ah, there's nothing like the exquisite feeling of joy of finding a fine author that I somehow missed and having ten full books already completed and waiting for me.

Don't forget the six books by co-creator Ian Esslemont and the two prequel series (Kharkanas trilogy and Path to Ascendency)! Enjoy the ride.
