Hi to all.

Steven Erikson is a very great writer. Of myth and of philosophical blank verse.

Welcome all,

feel free to look around, browse to your hearts content, and direct all questions to someone other than me, as i'm lazy.

Also, don't forget to peruse the off-topic sections for a fine mixture of the witty and the banal.
meh. Link was dead :(

long time lurker and finally decided to sign up, love the site.

Currently finished all the Erickson books except FoD,, currently working on RotCG. Still trying to get into ICEs writing style but definately liking the storylines.

Hope I can be a valuable member but some of you are real humbling with your Malazan knowledge...maybe after a few rereads.

Hello to all,
I have been using these forums for a while, just to refresh my memory for certain things in regards to the books ;)
I have just finished MOI and I am exhausted! The last few hundred pages were killing me with so many different emotions lol
I don't know if I have the energy to continue with HOC, however, I will endure :p
Thanks to the creators of this site and forums, they are a great help.
Hope to be here more often and make new friends,
Hamzah.

Old fan who just found this site-- 3 copies of Gardens of the Moon (US TPB, US MMPB (bought multiple times.... people kept losing my copies, bastards) and a used book store copy of it that had UK cover). Books 3, 4, and 5 I own in MMPB ordered from UK and in TPB US (that cost a pretty damned penny :/). Etc. Fan of darker and grittier fantasy where the fate of the characters is always in question (Glen Cook, Gene Wolfe, Jeff VanDerMeer, Martin, etc).
Worse things happen to better people, that's the mantra- POS.

Hey folks. Been around since the beginning. Been on this site more than a few times in the past but I kept forgetting my damn email passwords. I am bout to finish B&B and I will write a book review for it in that particular forum perhaps tomorrow or tonight.

Started MBoTF in 2000. Been a faithful follower ever since. I have kept up on ASoIF and WoT, BC. But none of those come close to this masterpiece these two have created.

Urge your friends to pick them up, everytime I come into the office my friends and co-workers are talking about the latest GoT episode. I tell them over and over again to start MBoTF and when they do they love it. A buddy I deployed with in Iraq in '03 got turned onto it by me, he has always been a fantasy fan, and he absolutely loved it, quotes SE every 2 damn seconds on Facebook now. Haha.

Hello Malazites,

I got introduced to this series last year after I finished the Ender Series by Frank Herbert and felt like there was a big void. GoTM really confused me in the beginning but I have never been so glad to stick with a series so loyally before this! Anyways I have been reading it diligently since and have reached Bonehunters now. Kept coming back to this site for references and to refresh my memory. Thought it was finally time to sign up... I absolutely love the Malazan Series.

Hello everyone!! I was registered on this forum back in like 2010 while I was going through my first read of this AMAZING series but forgot my username and all of that good stuff so I decided to re-register. I currently am on my 2nd read through and am on DeadHouse Gates and wow I must say after about a year and a half of not reading anything in the Malazan world (outside of Forge of Darkness) I must say it is good to be back. I had truly forgotten how deep you can get in this series and so far I am enjoying my second time through better than my first.

Hello all. I'm a longtime lurker, but finally decided to register, because not being able to use the search function was becoming a pain. Love the Malazan universe, think I've read all the relevant SE and ICE bits at least once (apart from Crack'd Pot Trail and the Wurms of Blearmouth, and possibly some other obscure tomes that I missed?), but there always seems to be more to explore and to get my head around. I'm trying to get my wife to read MbotF as well, but I'm not sure if I'll ever succeed. Although considering that until about 3-4 years ago her fantasy interests didn't go much beyond the likes of Pratchett and Fforde, but by now she has re-read SoIaF more times than temporal space would allow without aid of a TARDIS and has nearly finished the Farseer trilogy amongst other fantasy works, there is hope still. Just wanted to say a quick 'thank you' to the Illuminati here (you know who you are) who keep providing such excellent and detailed insights into the murky depths of this beautiful epic. Oh, and of course to SE and ICE for translating dice to paper.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Hello all.

I've been lurking here for awhile and finally decided to sign up. I've been reading SE and ICE's books for about the past year or so. Started out as something to read while waiting for the next ASOIAF novel, but now it's become the primary obsession. I'm currently reading Stonewielder, after which I'm planning to read OST and then the last two Book of the Fallen novels.

Hello! I'm new here. I started reading this series around two years ago, thought the first two books were pretty good. They didn't blow me away. And then I read Memories of Ice, and, well, have you ever fallen in love with a literary character? I used to do it all the time. Lestat, Raistlin Majere, Locke Lamora. And now, Itkovian. I'm up to book eight right now, only about 200 pages in. I'd read faster, but I have two little kids who don't give me a whole lot of reading time, but I'm enjoying book eight a great deal so far. I even put this one off because I was somewhat upset with events in Reaper's Gale.

At any rate, I'm very excited to find lots of in depth discussions about these books. I've gotten my husband to read the first three, and that's all. I got another friend to read the first one and a half, and he hates them, which is incredibly disappointing. I need people with whom to talk about this series.

Yeah... that might get me into some trouble, since they're only five and three! Too little for the mature stuff, and old enough that it won't all go over their heads. When my oldest was an infant I read Lies of Locke Lamora too him. I highly recommend just reading whatever you want to babies!

Hi new to the forum, my friend introduced me to Malazan via D&D, and I just finished the first book.
"You have to consider the possibility that God does not like you. He never wanted you. In all probability, he hates you. This is not the worst thing that can happen. We don't need Him. Fuck damnation, man, fuck redemption! If we are God's unwanted children, so be it" -Tyler Durden
