Out with the old and in with the new I say :) . Welcome one and all, may I suggest the Pheonix Inn and discussion board, it's where we talk about the world beyond the pages of the MBotF.

I don't think I ever see you outside those areas, well Sports, but I'd consider that discussion. Do you ever post in the book forums CI?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Used to read them when I first joined, posted in there a handful of times. I love the books, but really I hate reading people talk about them, especially the speculation. I don't want other people's thoughts in my head when I read. But I love this forum because if you love SE, then you are a person I can relate to and get along with.

Hey all.

I'm new here, but already I have learned a few things in my efforts to get to the end of even this thread. I will now share my insights:

1) I could blame everything on Brood, but since he's gone (to much fanfare) I'm going to need a list of acceptable substitutes.
2) I'm sure that there will be a continuous ripping of all things Terry Goodkind. I'd like to add that George R.R. Martin be equally beaten for being lazy.
3) I know that my signature may indeed draw eyebrows, but honestly. Until you've tossed a cat, you haven't lived.
4) Q21 will give newbie rep.
5) I will fit in very well here seeing as how there is alot of spamming to be had in the Inn.

That is all for now. I'll be seeing you all around the site! :p

Ahem... Welcome Arthur.

I merely wish you to know that by insulting the cats you shall draw the wrath and fury of Abyss' Abyssmal Army. Beware of the Leader, who likes brainz... and the rest of the braindeadwashed people.

Enjoy the bored and the board.

Since we've been getting all nostalgic about fallen members in the Inn today, I thought I should do my bit to balance it out. Welcome to the recent converts. This place would be nothing without new blood, so don't be shy and get stuck in here!

Bah, he's a puss. Welcome new person, Abyss is my enemy for obvious reasons. I hate cats, and well, dogs are superior anyway. Any chance you might be female and want to change your name to Roach....Damn SE why couldn't he have named the other dog Fluff or something!

Stop recruiting already! Howdy Arthur, although I believe we've already had a chat in the discussions board, sorta. Nice initial post.

Greetings all. I'm new to the forums and thought I'd swing by and introduce myself. I live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. I became addicted to all things Malazan when I read GotM about a year and a half ago. I'm about to finish Midnight Tides and my enthusiasm for this series has only increased along the way.

I haven't looked too closely but does anyone know if or where one might find information about Erikson's book tours? I'm not sure if he does appearances after each release or not, but I'd love to meet him and - as a fellow Canadian - I'd almost expect that it would be a bit easier.

Anyway - greetings and hope to see people around the forums.

Welcome David, of the city-that-was-once-called-Berlin.

When there's a big huge major booktour it's often posted in the announcements forum. If SE does some smaller ones, though, they might escape our eye...

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Hi all,

Great forum. I found it through Facebook. I'll have to stay away from most of the content as I've only just bought GOTM (this evening).

I like the bear, in my neck of the woods, people actually carve this stuff.

Though I suspect it happens in Rodeo's area as well.
