Heyo! My name's Lucas or Dadding, which is a weird name considering I'm under twenty and definitely not a dad. But it was my friend's dad's username ages ago, and I sort of adopted it and have been using it ever since. Just finished reading House of Chains after starting the series on a whim because I saw it on a sketchy looking website telling me what the "best" fantasy series of all time were. Might have even been a Geocities website ... *shudder*.

I'm here for entirely selfish reasons, you guys seemed good at answering questions, and the wiki is a scary place that I try not to visit so this seemed like my best bet.

Hey Guys, Ronin here just started reading MBoF and I'm hooked, picked it up after finishing AsoiaF. Ive just finished Memories of Ice and this series is now my all time favorite fantasy series. Better than Martin and Cook, IMO. Looking forward to having some arguments with you guys and starting House of Chains today!

I recently finished The Crippled God, so I decided to join this forum to discuss all things malazan (since, well, I don't know anyone who have read them... or even heard of them). I had been wanting to discuss the books earlier but out of selfpreservation from spoilers (cowardice really) I refrained, but now after The Crippled God I thought, why not? (I haven't read OST or B&B yet though...).

Hey, just joined today. I'm currently beginning Reaper's Gale—I'm only on p. 51 right now. There's still a lot of stuff I'm confused about so I'm sure you'll see me on here quite a bit and asking a bunch of questions. After initially being a little hesitant about this series, I've become addicted. Erikson has already killed off a couple of my favorite characters and some I never thought would die but this is one of the reasons why I love these books. He's awesome. If he kills Toc the Younger, well Toc Anaster, I will cry for days. See you all on here!

Long time watcher, first time poster. Found GOM in an opshop, all shredded and ruggard. Something about it appealed to me so went home a read it stratight away. Half way through I was hooked and went out too buy the whole seriries. I have read all uptoo The Crippled God, But am currently reading Ian Esselmont's third book Stoneweilder as I have been reading those in between malazan series. Joined so I could talk to other fans. I live in NZ and haven't met a single person that's even herd of the books before. My public Library didn't even have them so I donated GOM to them in hope that some fans will arise in NZ. Its horrible not being able to talk to fellow fans. People ask what I reading and when I try to explain it too them I see in there eyes they don't grasp the epicniss! Look forward to chatting

I've read the whole Malazan Book of the Fallen series and two Ian's books (would like to read the rest but there are no Polish version of them and my English is not good enough to take original versions).

I'm a graphic designer/digital artist. At the moment I'm trying to start some big digital art project which is connected with Malazan Empire books

Hi. Recently read Gotm, DHG, MOI and HoC and am rereading them before I start Midnight Tides. I've found the rereading to be so much more enjoyable despite knowing some spoilers because I understand what's happening and why for the most part. First time I read through I felt like I was reading a foreign language and so much went over my head. I will probably finish my second reading of Deadhouse Gates tonight, and start Memories of Ice tomorrow. Always been a big fan of fantasy. After I finished A song of Ice and Fire, The Malazan Book of the Fallen was recommended to me. Took me a couple tries to get past the enormous amount of terminology and characters, before I could start to figure out What's going on.

Anyway I've enjoyed the series so much that I seek to discuss it.

First time poster here, well here goes nothing

This is something that I've been looking to find for quite a while, a group of people that actually understands what im talking about when I bring up all sorts of crazy sayings and don't look at me like I have three heads. I've read all of MBotF, have yet to read Blood and Bone, and have read Forge of Darkness. I personally find this to be one of my favourites series. None of the others I have read compare to this in terms of the storytelling, sure they have good content and are enjoyable, but the way that SE and ICE get you involved with the characters, and how you attached you get to them throughout the series, is absolutely incredible! As long as there are stories to be told about the world of Malaz, I'll always be reading them. Personally I'm trying to find some time to work on a deck of dragons for myself, see if I cant get one going to keep up with the books, although its hard to do because we don't find out the descriptions of all the ascendents.

Hi. Just got finished reading the set. I read the set in about 9 months with no other books in between.

I loved the set. To say it was life changing would be an exaggeration considering that I'm a father of 4 younger children. However, I freely admit that I'm not quite ready to let this story go. I miss this world already and am considering reading it again but I kinda feel guilty for all the time I've spent away from my family (while I lived in the malazan reality).

I could never hope to share this story with my family...its just too deep and complex. The tragedy and the sublte but costly victories. The grief and relief (which somehow passes for happiness). No, unless you've read (and constantly reread) these books, you could never know the profound depths and heights of this story.

So, here I am...hoping someone here knows and has felt the things I have felt reading this story.

As I said....I'm not quite ready to let it go...
