I'm just hoping that the perception of "the world is against my point of view" finds some sort of understanding here.....

Hello. I love the Malazan Book of the Fallen - what I've read so far (I've only managed to get hold of the first 4 books).
I'm mad: The duck told me so.

I always liked fantasy and honestly, the first 200 pages of GotM I was wondering why did I buy this book. Who would have known that a little later a significant part of my existential problems would be when will be published the next book of the series. So, I'm hooked. I've read three times everything apart from DoD (it was published in Bulgaria just a couple of weeks ago), I'm waiting for tCG and... Actually, just waiting for tCG.

Hi new here

Massive fan decided to join because when I read these books I need to talk about what the hell is going on.
Every time I get blown away and fall more in love with the characters!
I was sold on the books as soon as you get to now the BB's and on the writing, when SE isn't afraid to kill off major characters you know something great in is store :)

Hi there, figured i'd introduce myself, I'm on BH now (also having read night of knives), with the rest of the series bought and paid for. Honestly, i'd put this series right up there with martin and jordan, and thank god erikson can get books published faster than once every 5 friggin years...

Hello, I'm a papist.

Quite new to the Malazan world. I've had Gardens of the Moon sitting collecting dust on my shelf for about two years now and after just finishing the latest in Jordan's The Wheel of Time series and what with not having much else to read, I decided to jump in to Erikson's world after a brief foray many moons ago which didn't see me get far past Itko Kan. Now I am about half-way through with Tattersail off to Darujhistan and I must say I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I'll be about the forum.

Hi!

After I finished A Song of Ice and Fire (waiting for next book) I decided to try MBotF. After I read LOTR in English about 6/7 years ago I didn't read much novels in English anymore (Dutch is my native language). To improve my English and because I heard the Dutch translation of MBotF was rubbish I would try to read this book in English. The first read was a struggle and halfway I gave up. After reading this forums in March I saw that more people had trouble with reading the first book. This made me enthusiast to start reading again. I changed my style of reading, I reread chapters, made use of the Index and made longer reading sessions. All this effort payed of and after the end of DG I fell in love with the series. Most important is that this series is actually just as good as A Song of Ice and Fire, maybe even better!!! I have learned that all the next books I gonna read, in every kind of genre, will be in the writers native language. This because there is so much more humor and other (don't know the right words for it :D ) aspects of sentences and storytelling in that then in translated books.

So I want to thank you all for giving me inspiration to continue reading!

Hi all,

New member who has been a fan of SE since discovering his work many years ago. I am currently reading DoD and must admit I am having trouble remembering details of the characters and past events. I am hoping the forun threads will remind me of a few things and provide me with a better understanding of many of the story lines.

Thanks!

Hi!~
I only got introduced to this series two months ago. We had eight MBotF books on the shelf at home, and the first B&KB novella... and in two months' time I finished reading them all AND reread them as well and still failed to understand some things, ahaha~ . :) Been lurking for a time here.

I love this series. It's the first fantasy series I really loved.

Hi All,
I am a fantasy nut and I have given up on Robert Jordan, still have faith in George RR Martin and NOW have a new love for Steve Erikson. It took me 2 times to get through GOTM. Then as I kept on through DG and MOI I am so invested in these books and am so enjoying them!! See you all around!
