Hi everyone.

Been lurking for a while now but only just thought about doing the decent thing and introducing myself.

Anyways I'm from North East Scotland and work for the Post Office for my sins, oh yeah and I was a former Police Officer but after a couple of years decided it wasn't for me, that and I couldn't get used to shift work.

I am probably reiterating a point already made but I found it hard going but after persevering I have to say this is probably the best series of books I have ever read, other than 'A Song of Ice and Fire.' However I may revise that if tubby dies before finishing the series, maybe Erikson should give him pointers on sticking to deadlines, heh.

Although there is a lot of reading to this series and if they ever decide to film this there will be a lot missing actually it would have to be a TV Series because they just couldn't fit it all in, oh and the one thing they would have to change is the way(large spoilers, RG)
Spoiler

Excuse my French by the way.

Cheers, Ozzie

Dammit u telling me SPOILER ALERT !!!!!!! I didn't know that....just finished BH..

A note on spoilers. If you're posting information from books later than that of the forum you are in, or in a non-book area, please put it in spoiler tags, with a note of which book the spoiler's from.

To use spoiler tags:
Spoiler information here
Also, if someone else posts a spoiler without tags, you can use the report function, bttom left of each post, to bring it to the mods attention, so that we can edit it out. Feel free to ask the person to edit it on thread too though(though if you do, you should probably edit it out of your quote if you quote them, or it defeats the purpose).

Sorry to see that you got spoiled gutts-it really sucks.

Welcome to all the new folk, hope you have a good time.

Hi all!

I'm new as well, I dropped in while I was looking at/for Malazan art, and have been scouring the Malazan Art pages ever since. But I never introduced myself, thus:

I am from the Netherlands and study Geology in Amsterdam, focusing on and doing research on Paleontology as much as I can. I really like SE's archeological background, as it is clearly readable in the whole series. I read the first 4 books, felt a little reluctant on starting yet another whole new, dense storyline, so I waited some. Then I saw the re-read on the Tor Books website and started re-reading as well, keeping up with Tor, but after 3 weeks, I found out I was reading a lot faster than they are and am now almost through MoI again.

Btw, I had a great laugh reading Hellequin's post! I'm trying to get my girl to read the Malazan series as well, I know she'd love them, but it's not quite happening yet.

Cheers :p

Hello everyone,

I'm relatively new to the series in the sense that I was only introduced to it from a friend of mine last year, but I have read all the books up to Dust of Dreams with the exception of the Esslemont stuff.

I'm glad I found a place to gush over this mans masterful work

This series is just full of mind blowing stuff that continues to astound even on rereading there is enough stuff that either was forgotten in the torrent of action, information, and questions or just disregarded as unimportant at the time.

And for as much as I learned from the first 9 books, I still can honestly say that I am just as confused (in the best possible way) now as I was after the first few chapters of Gardens of the Moon.

This man makes me proud to be Canadian.

Hi everyone. I was introduced to this series by a friend. I borrowed Gardens of the Moon from the library and devoured it. My library did not have Deadhouse Gates so I purchased and I am 100 pages in. Love the series especially how Erikson throws you into the story without much background. Hope to see you all on the boards.

Hello everyone! I've been reading the series for years after randomly discovering Memories of Ice in the local library. I've been hooked ever since. I've been lurking around the boards for a while now, and I finally decided to join up. Hope to see you all around!

Hey guys,
I've read all of the books and got tired of waiting for my friends to catch up so I thought I would check out what's going on here.

So glad I found this site... can't even estimate the amount of hours I've wasted at work reading the Malazan books. Looks like I'll be going for the record, now that I've become a member.

Welcome to the boards good sir. Trhy are indeed an amazing resource and collection of fabulous people.
I'm afraid I'm already going to have to correct you on on one thing though. The time was not wasted! :D Mere redeployed from pointless work to wholly more rewarding pursuit. :D

Edit: Darn you Dutch! Still i'll just pretend I was emphasising your point :p

@ Treach's Uncle - Now you can work toward the goal of hours wasted at work posting on this forum.

Just like me

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.
