Evil Faction
The rep-whores : Each night you assign rep to one person still alive. The shear power of your rep is enough to kill mortal men and women even over the internet and unless blocked they will die in the morning. You may have followers or even equals in the game, but you cannot see, nor communicate with them. You are on your own, but if another member of your faction makes it to the end game your faction will win and you will be victorious. Be aware though that your rep will kill another rep whore if you land it on them at night.
Symp:- You are an evil sympathiser. You are a member of upstanding quality on the surface, but in the dark places of the board you listen to the whispers of change and feel a warm fuzzy glow in your stomach. You know the identity of all the killers from the offset, but if killed you will be revealed as being a member of the INNOCENT Faction.
Innocent Faction
Roleless Innocent (Newbie):- You are a noob, flitting around the board and content with how things are. You have no rep power, and the height of your ability is a little grey blip in someones control panel. Swept into the tide of war by venturing into the wrong thread at the wrong time you are trapped alongside the best and the worst of the board members. But you have a voice, and here and now, you have the power to decide who wins and who dies. You have no night actions and when killed you will show up as INNOCENT.
finder:- You are an amazing investigator, famed the board over for your ability to discern even the most useless information. Of course what is actually happening is that you stole an admin password and read their pm's, but being cautious by nature you can do this only once a night, and even though you can tell what a person is, you have no idea who they support. There may even be more than one of you, but you wont know who they are unless you investigate them. You will turn up INNOCENT upon death.
(Sent Roleless innocent FIRST, activated by lynch or night kill) Bulletproof Vig:- Your rep on the board is such that even death cannot keep you down. Lynched or night killed, it doesn't matter, you can take any hit once. Once lynched or nightkilled once you will be filled with righteous anger and be able to kill once during the rest of the game. The mods will pm you when your new ability manifests itself.
Lovers:- A tale of two cities a thousand miles apart. Your love is the delicate flower in a sea of poison ivy. Innoccent of the sad nature of your love affair and your lack of money for a plane ticket you content yourself with love across the broadband divide. Nothing but death can separate you. You have no special powers, but if one of you is night killed the other will for one day only become a Bersark. On Thread type [NAME, you bastard, you murdered my lover!]. You and that player will BOTH die in a massive avenging brawl. This will end the day instantly and invoke night. Any night actions not already sent in will be ignored and the mods will move the day forward. If you decide not to use this power it will be gone by the end of the day after your lover died. You can communicate off thread and will of course return as INNOCENT.
Healer - a shining beacon of light in the face of so much darkness you really despise the internet and only go on forums to feel smugly superior. Thanks to your job with the local internet provider you can at night swicth off someones broadband out of spite thinking denying them their daily porn means there is more for you. On the plus side, they cant be killed if they arent online and like it or not you are a healer and you are innocent. But too long without some dirty outlet might be bad for peoples health.
You are a member of the innos.
(unknown to player) healing the same person twice in a row will kill that player.
Neutral Roles:-
Guard:- You can derail a discussion with spam at the drop of a hat and suck people into lengthy discussions about the strangest and worst subjects. If you wish to distract another player you can pm their name to the mods during the day and that player will be unable to act during the night. You can be a member of either faction. If a member of the evil faction, you will receive a pm with the names of any killers playing at the start of the game.
Vig:- (SENT TO TURNCOAT don't want them to know they are a turncoat ) You have a standing order for guns monthly and own six swords, two axes and a full set of chainmail. None of these things help across the internet though, so you have a one shot kill with a crappy comp virus you found on ebay instead. You get only one shot and must pm the mods with your choice during the day if you want the kill to occur at night. If killed you turn up INNOCENT
(activated by a killers night kill only!!!!!) Turncoat:- Faced with the awesome power of a rep whore – you beg and barter for your life with the forum gods and they grant you a reprieve. You can see who tried to kill you and feel nothing but love in your heart for their spamming awesomeness. You can no longer perform any night action, but you are now an EVIL SYMP.
Special Role:-
SERIAL KILLER:- an old mod, long lost to the ether you have become fascinated by the new books in the series and returned to what was once a great forum. Dismayed by what you found you have stumbled into the game forum with the knowledge that all are your enemies are gathering there to do battle. Retaining some modding power you can kill two people over the course of the game. Your purpose though is to be the last man standing. A neutral faction, if KILLED you will be announced INNOCENT. To kill a player you pm the mods during the day.
Regardless of the opposing roles, if you make it to the last three with your kills intact you will be the winner. If you use a kill you can still win if you are one of the last two.
If you use both kills, you will become a ROLELESS INNOCENT. If the entire evil team is defeated, you will celebrate the victory of the innocents as a member of their team.
