Okay, since there's been some moaning over the 29th date, I'll go along and say the 5th.

That's Saturday the 5th at 01.00 (One Hour Past Midnight) +1.00 GMT, all you Americans and Australians who want to play need to try and calculate when this is in your barbarian time zones.

By the way, why is it that we don't just do the contest in a thread here on Malaz rather than on this imaginary board Macros supplied?

Because it's easier with the instantaneous-ness of the chat-style, instead of posting, then scrolling up to read what you cross-posted, then refreshing, etc etc.

So 1:00am Saturday for GMT+1 would be 7:00pm Friday for Tehol, right? I know I'm an hour ahead of her. I'll probably at least come watch, if not join in for team canuckistan...

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Is there going to be like a list of acceptable drinks and what not?
I think there is a deff difference in shot sizes and percentages though.

Yes, I believe it's 7:00pm central for me, on Friday. I'll be there!

I agree with D'rek the chat room is much more convenient, the cross chat is bad enough when it's going on live with that many people. I don't even want to think what the cross posts and what no would be like.

The way we did it last time, was that you had a standard sized shot of alcohol. You could shoot it, or mix it, as long as you were consuming the shot of liquor within the time requirement.

As to the chat room, I will PM everyone who is taking part with the website and sign up information closer to the date.

I have proposed a standard of 4cl shots of 40% alcohol. That's your average big shots glas at a bar (Not the big Galiano Hotshot glases).

I'm going to PM Macros about the chatroom.

*tries to work out what a centilitre is*

What's the standard shot size? All my shot glasses are either that or double shot glasses, so I'll be damned if Im going to sit and measure out 4cl each time, hassle.

Too many rules for a drunk-a-thon.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Just measure 40ml out once and make a mark on your glass when you're sober, or find some random thing in your house that happens to be the right size. Standard shot size varies from country to country. I'm happy with 4cl, it's just less than a double over here I think.

Wouldn't this work fine if we just drank what we wanted and each kept a tally? We could then convert to pure alcohol intake at the end.

Personally I like to start with beer. Especially at 11am.

Yeah, I am not starting on straight spirits at 11 in the morning, especially as I'll have been out the night before. A shot is about 1 standard drink, so if I drink a whole beer every time we shot that should be enough.

Nah i don't like inaccuracy. We need to each calculate how much ethenol we are each injesting.

I suggest we each make a good attempt to keep to a standard drink for each interval, but at the end we need an exact record, so we must keep all empty containers.

Hm... this doesn't account for spillage tho.

Well we'll just have to try to be as accurate as possible.
