So, I was channel hopping and found out The Lost Boys is on tv. I have it on dvd but now I must watch it anyway. I remembered it is one of 4 films I can recite the dialogue to (and chime in with the soundtrack at the appropriate moments, the bit with the dude in the purple tie dye spandex leggings is the best bit. God I miss the 80s).
Maybe it says something about the kind of person you are! So share yours.
Mine are (in order of reciting competence):
1. Aliens
2. The Lost Boys
3. The Terminator
4. Kickboxer (I can even do the dance at the right moment for this, apart from the splits moment). Nak su kao.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Are these films you know the script to, or that if it comes on you have to watch...mind I suppose it comes down to the same thing...you should explain why though, otherwise it's like only half the story.
For me;
1. The Searchers - reminds me of sitting on the sofa with my grampa - he loved Westerns and especially Big JW. It's the only western hubby will watch, but when it comes on we have to watch it.
2. Blazing Saddles - I simply love it....appeals to my silly sense of humour...and I really do know the whole thing...but I have to turn over at the bean eating scene.
3. 13th Warrior - Just the best film ever. (I get a bit confused, but know most of the script pretty well.)
4. Tombstone - for the line, "Make no mistake, it's not revenge he's after. It's a reckonin'." Can't say I'm word perfect on this one, but I must watch it when it's on.
Heck..I didn't realise I liked Westerns so much...

'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

Hey! I know a T.S. Eliot quote. Thanks to the Dark Tower series.
"Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust."

Agree about Jane Austen, although maybe not as harshly lol.
