I was wondering what the numbers all meant and that sort of thing. Someone was saying it was a waste to use a waiver on a kicker, which I think I did. Do we only get a limited number or something?

Ah okay. Well there are two sets of numbers, one indicates the number of waiver moves you've made so far, and the other indicates where you are in the pecking order. Right now you are sitting at 14th last on the list, because you were the last in the league to make a waiver pick up. So if someone else also wants that kicker you have a waiver on they will get him first. It all goes in order of numbers from 1-14. Kickers are readily available and there isn't much difference in their point totals so it's not really worth wasting a waiver move on. You could easily pick up the kicker as a free agent, saving you a waiver move and moving your position up on the list. Picking someone like a kicker on waiver ends up being a problem when you really need something like a WR, RB, QB, or DST and other people are competing for the same guy. Those positions are harder to come by so you want to be as high up on the list as possible, not bumping yourself to 14th. So yeah cancel the waiver for the kicker, you still have until tomorrow to do so. Pick him or another kicker up as a free agent on Wednesday morning and you will be off the bottom of the list for when you really need a waiver.

I am completely embarassed by my team this week. Had my ass handed to me by Venge and rightfully so! The Manning bros screwed me big time! First it was Peyton without a damn touchdown. How that is even possible when you throw for three hundred and some odd yards is beyond me! You know things are bad when Addai is throwing a td to Wayne! Don't even get me started on Eli, he was a mess out there. He was like a deer caught in the headlights! Of course Favre deciding to suddenly ignore Rice was of no help either. Oh and it would be nice if the Chargers would just give up on LT, so that Sproles could get some decent carries. Other than those two td's LT ran in he did nothing with his 18 carries. Right then, end rant....sorry boys it was a bad Sunday and Monday for me! Congrats again on the win Venge!

I think most people at least tried to get him. But my waiver number was much much better this week, so I'm still a bit confused about all that malarky  -_-

So who drafted Breeze and Brady? I assume they are the two highest scorers in this league, right?

I didn't, I needed a new Tight End with Daniels going down for the year.

So smug. I'm in second place with my strategy, thanks. (And first place is Slum, who took AP overall #1, but keep that grin on your face, because you are obviously right.)

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I didn't even have a strategy, I just drafted the best player available each time. Was that dumb?

No. Especially not for your first draft. The "BPA" in fantasy terms generally correlates to an actual fantasy strategy generally, because early rounds are so reminiscent of each other.

Well my tried and true strategy backfired for this league, I am doing well in my other fantasy leagues though, so I am not about to change it. I think this league is way too deep for my liking, I don't think I will take part in a 14 person league again. Or if I did it would have to be one with less bench spots, because it makes it too difficult to get a decent team together. I normally take part in ten man leagues. In those leagues people aren't even considering picking up the people that we are fighting over on waiver. We are really scraping the bottom of the barrel player wise here.

Other than that though, I haven't been helped by the fact that I usually rely on RB's and mine have tanked big time this year, as did a lot of RB's league wide at the outset. The only WR of my original picks that I've kept is Holmes. So I have no one to blame but myself for my picks. I never would have thought that Evans, Ginn, and Galloway would suck as badly as they have this year though. I've also had bad luck in some of my matchups. It is what it is though and I stand behind my strategy and my choices good or bad.

League wide the WR's are down too, Dearest. My 2, 3, and 4 picks were WR's, of which only Welker has played well. Jennings is being beat by Driver and Johnson has a rookie QB throwing to him when he's healthy (which he is rarely).

The waiver wire is where leagues are won, I'm telling you.

Right I agree Dearest, WR's are down as well, I just meant that I normally rely on RB's. It's clear WR's have been tanking which is why I dropped the above-mentioned three. I think this is the year of the TE. Waiver wire is where it's at, but in a 14 man league with the number of bench spots we've got, even the players available on waiver is pretty thin.

Reggie Wayne FTW.

Cedric Benson has been carrying me this season since I got Cutler in my league. (We only grant 3 points per passing TD, but 6 per receiving), which makes great RB's and great QB's about even in points, which makes your first two rounds much more... interesting.

I feel like I'm doing pretty well. 2 of my losses were close games (like 5 points) that I could've won with some better starts, and the big loss was thanks to a ridiculous 50 points or something between 2 players from Daser.

Too bad the Arizona D/ST is fucking worthless, and Schaub randomly stopped doing amazing last week (no TD's and 2 picks yet 270 yards)...
