I WANT IN.

And, I hope to play with people who will embrace RI with the same enthusiasm as they would as if it was their first game.
Secondly, I no longer hope to be one thing or another... because I've played as roleless inno (and fucking loved it) and as killer (twice) in my only 3 games. I've tasted your sweet and salt, and found both to be fun. You complainers are just spoiled. Playing as RI is like playing Clue, but with super smart mother fuckers attempting to manipulate you as the game progresses.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Wrong forum?

But yeah. RI is the best role in the game.
"pseudoscience and superstition will seem year by year more tempting, the siren song of unreason more sonorous and attractive. Where have we heard it before? Whenever our ethnic or national prejudices are aroused, in times of scarcity, during challenges to national self-esteem or nerve, when we agonize about our diminished cosmic place and purpose, or when fanaticism is bubbling up around us – then, habits of thought familiar from ages past reach for the controls. The candle flame gutters. Its little pool of light trembles. Darkness gathers. The demons begin to stir." - Carl Sagan

I agree with HD - he is wise :p
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

Moved.

And any role can be fun. It's all about how you play it. Personally, I seem to excel in merc games, as those are where I have a lot of fun (not to mention my particular playstyle of 'nothing....nothing....nothing....sudden contribution!' seems to do well in them...)

Exactly! It's like anything else... you get out what you put in. I might be a numbfuck, but even the worst of roles can be pretty damned fun, considering you are playing with really smart people, who have lots of experience, and therefore, you have to adapt all the time. It's like the ultimate strategy game.

Which, of course, is all down to opinion, and the specific game. I mean, you can love a role, get it, have a terrible game, and not like that role at all that time around, too.

Quote

Mafia 48: Vorkosigan theme <> Kurt Montadon (PST) <> TMDI 9-10
Mafia 49: Alan Campbell's Cohl's Shades theme <> Lisheo (GMT) and Morgoth (GMT+2)

these are the scheduled games, so now you know what you sign up for, highlander being number 50.

I'm also IN.

Edit: I've just realised that sounds stupid, especially as no-one will have a clue what I am on about...um...move along, nothing to see here...just me being...well me.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.
