I don't think an outed infected dying in the night necessarily means there is no healer. It could just as easily mean that the healer can't heal an SO, given that Morgy promised complicated roles. I don't think it gives the scum any extra info in that regard.

@Lio ~ of course I realise they are separate teams, but I admit I was getting confused about Duncan's role :p - duh. My main point was more about a healer and that we not PI anyone just because they are/claim infection. There seemed to be an assumption that only the town would be affected. I am not arguing that infected shouldn't speak up, just that we need to be careful...also if an infected does die after claiming being infected, doesn't that mean we probably haven't got a healer and that wouldn't be good to let scum know - would it?

Edit: cross posts

Are you assuming that the healer protects against synapse overload?

@Lio - fair enough...just wanted to be cautious.

@Sil - yes I was, but given Lio's comment about healer might NOT being able to heal an SO then I guess it makes everything I thought a bit pointless, except the bit about not PIing an infected, especially as Rashan's latest but one post mentions the inno bit again. (Did he really vote night??? :p )

The easiest way to screw up the DG/infected is to speed lynch randomly on some day in the future. If the infected are under compulsion to vote they will die if they don't cast votes and you will see who scrambles to get votes on some other target to stay alive. It should out them. You can't telegraph it though otherwise the DG holds the compulsion.

hmm

like many others, I find Liosan's suggestion that the infected outs themselves rightnow totaly naive.

after all, the first infected is automatic choice for to inherit the DG role, at least for night 1.
Speaking up puts them in a lot more risk.

OK, caught up.

Pleasant surprise indeed, seems like nobody likes to RP City of Saints :p

The plan of asking the infected to out themselves, then heal/de-infect them is not bad, although it assumes there is a healer. The DP can fry AND infect in the same night, right? So I don't see why he would not fry whoever outs himself while he infects someone else.

The bad thing is that if the first infected dies, then it strongly suggests there's no healer, and that's bad info to give the killers. Remember the infected don't play for their new team, so they might not be worth the effort.

As for worrying about the infected being scum, that's not a concern. Nobody will PI someone because they claim infected. It does not need to alter our choice of lynch, which is our main way of killing scum, it just maximizes the efficiency of the night action of Duncan.

If Duncan can remove infection then the "fry" won't happen. It's a one for one affect. It seems to me that it looks like the innocents and the DG will effectively neutralize each other and leave the scum to hide in the background to pick people off from both groups.

That is good plan, mate! The only tricky bit is that you can't discuss who to target, its gotta be like "We're takin down the infected, pile on this person - ____" because if you discuss an infected will try and get you to target who there compulsed on. but then if you dont discuss, the person suggestingg could be a infected and if you all pile on with no debate the infecteds will live! its a dilemmea!

The compulsion ability, the DG can easily hide, four people jumping suddenly to a train before the day ends shows they are most infected. The DG probably wouldn't need to vote for that person.

yes I did vote for night. I like the idea of testing out the whole idea of an infected revealing that they are infected just to see what happens. (call me sick for asking someone to potentially lose for my sick pleasure)

However speed lynching or voting night at the right time could get rid of infected that have been compulsed.

I foresaw this problem and I didn't mention if for just that reason, I'm not sure why you felt the need to get your information out, other than you aren't working with us non-infected people. :p It's bad form to "out" information like this in a m&p game, I see it the same way here. You wrote a counter-play book for the infected. Nice job.

So I fail to see how voting night and testing out an infected reveal are at all correlated.

So you are voting for night when, from what I understand, the infected couldn't have been forced to vote for someone yet, and somehow this is going to reveal to us who the one infected is?

O cause that possibility was soooooo subtle and unthinckable? pffft, with like 4 or so infected someone would easy have thought of it and if it were never brought up all the innosheeps would then immediatley jump on that person and the infected would get away with it. im making people cautois to watch for the infecturds trying to change the tabels!

I think he wants to see someone to shout I'm infected, then us vote night and then see if the "Infected" person dies.

How many times have people seen night voted for successfully?
