Daniel Abraham's Long Price Quartet is very good too. Have read first 3 books and eagerly awaiting book 4.

If I'm not mistaken Guy Gavriel Kay's new book is set in an Asian setting.
*checks*
Yep, Under Heaven is set in 8th century Tang Dynasty China.
EDIT: It pays not to skim-read.

Just writing in to tell that I have read the first two books of the aforementioned Kamigawa trilogy by Scott McGough (consisting of Outlaw: Champions of Kamigawa, Heretic: Betrayers of Kamigawa and Guardian: Saviors of Kamigawa) and to tell you: don't bother. They're very bad. When

and it just isn't exciting, you know you're reading something historically bad.

James Clavelle's Shogun is historical fiction, not fantasy, but other than no magic, it might as well be. Ninja, samurai, white boy stuck in a culture he doesn't understand, in depth look at a strange different culture, killing people with various types of bladed weapons, it's got everything fantasy would have other than magic and monsters. I would bet money that any fan of good fantasy would love this book.
I have to agree on this. Shogun is a blast to read. Plays very loose with the actual events of the Anjin-san mind you. But a great read.

there is Japanese series called the Guin saga written by Kaori Kurimoto the First five books of the series hve been translated and are really good fun. The main character is a Leopard heded warrior who helps in the battles against the Mongaul armies that wihs to conquer the world. Definitely a series to check out hopefully some more parts will be translated soon as there are over a 100 books out in Japanese now.
