When a man lies he murders
Some part of the world
These are the pale deaths which
Men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear
To witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation
Take me home

I'm really looking forward to this, absolutley love the original.

It was discussed a while ago on YBMT i think, and it was mentioned that there were going to be lot of deviations from the original movie and original myth/stories ?

Dunno but I don't think Bobo(sp?) the owl will be in it ! As long as Medusa makes an appearance i'll be happy !

Mils Madsen ? (SP again), ( Le Chifre from Casino Royale) is in it as well.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

Michael Madsen, one of the most popular danish actors.

So, could someone explain what this is about. I thought CLash of the Titans was a book but I've never seen any films or read any books by this name?

Is it, like, with real Greek Titans and stuff?

Its about Perseus (Son of Zeus) has to rescue Andromeda, before she has to marry a monster. Zeus has set up a few tests for Perseus on the way, like capturing Pegasus, defeating Medusa, and finding a way to kill monster, Kraken.

You must have seen it....You never seen THAT movie with Medusa in it?...

Apt, how have you missed this?!

Stop-motion classic; Gods, monsters and everything - Laurence Olivier as Zeus!

It's even got Pat Roach in it.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Nope never seen it, but then again, I've always had an aversion to stop-motion.

Sounds interesting though. Could be very good with todays technology.

FREAK

*ahem*

Clash of the Titans is EPIC, one of the best films ever made, mustve watched it about 250 times. It's star-studded, action-packed, has great villains (Calibos, Medusa, Kraken, Giant Scorpions, etc etc), and is hilarious to boot.

Im not really sure how they can improve it, it's like saying "hmm, the Mona Lisa, could do with a touch up - and while we're at it, some facial hair, perhap?"

The crucial role, which they absolutely HAVE to get right, is Ammon played by Burgess Meredith (he of Penguin fame). Key supporting cog, movie doesnt work without him, and you have to get it spot on. He's brilliantly hilarious, with his overdramatic style. My friend is doing drama and we've watched that film about 10 times (he is referred to solely as Alan) so it can be demonstrated to her how a true professional, classicaly trained actor, performs.

Plus, who's playing Calibos? I hope they dont go down the CGI route. Del Torro wouldve been perfect for this film, imagine him set loose with Greek mythological figures to costume up...*drools*

Meh. I'm sure it is going to be perfectly watchable, it is a great story and the Greek myths are just asking for a CGI fest. Part of me hopes it is a huge flop though. If it goes well, Jason and the Argonauts will follow and then Hollywood will give the DC/Marvel treatment to the whole of Greek mythology!

Actually, the shields the guy in the top post is wielding is historically correct. If you look at the depictions of ancient greek hoplites you'll see that at one time they were using these "applecore" designs for their shields. I don't know what made that design usefull, probably it has something to do with being able to have the shield up while holding out the spear.

Well, Mezla, we both know Hollywood cannot top the Adventures of Hercules TV movies with Kevin Sorbo:

He always seemed a bit puny for Hercules. They should have got the reigning Mr Universe at the time, bulked him up even more on steroids, and sent him on set.

Talking about remakes...studios have gotten writers to start penning screen plays for a remake of TOTAL RECALL and SHORT CIRCUIT.

also one strange script that is being written is.....WHERE'S WALDO ...Can you fucking believe it?

Liam Neeson is Zeus
Ralph Fiennes is Hades
Alexa Davalos is Andromeda

The full cast has not been released yet as far as i know...there are rumours on certain actors being in it but not who is playing what.
