Does anyone really give a s&%# who wins...
I know I don't.
A bit of hit and giggle before the real stuff starts.
Thoughts, comments, deafening indifference?

I'm not really a fan of T20. To be fair, I haven't watched much of the IPL or anything else, but it seems to me as though it puts the focus more on the individual than the team as a whole - 2 batsmen can win a match by themselves, really. It's incredibly weighted towards who bats first. It's also a bit of a luck game as well - batsmen can have literally no finesse and still hit the crap out of anything, and do well. It doesn't reward good batting, it rewards risky, reckless hitting. Now, sure, it's entertaining, and great to watch, but it's too short for real team play, which is part of the reason why I watch cricket.
I really don't care who wins. Like you said, a bit of fun, and I'll watch it, but it'll never match up to the other forms of the game - it's a crowd pleaser, first and foremost.
That said, I think India or the Aussie will win - the Saffers can be a little inconsistent, England have no hope, and neither do the Windies, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc...

Thing about T20 is it evens the field.
Read a story, prob on cricinfo about it. Something about the better team will win 99% of the time in Tests and that is halved or something for ODI's and halved again for T20's. Like you said, a single player can win it.
That's not very coherrent. Sorry, my memory sucks.
Dunno about Pakistan not having a chance, they got to the final of the last one and towelled us up a couple of weeks ago.
Agree with the rest though. One of the sub-continent teams or us. Sri Lanka could surprise.

I think Sri Lanka may well cause some upsets. But I can't see anyone other than the Aussies, Saffers, India or Sri Lankans winning it. Can't get that worked up, mind you, the only cricket people have real interest in this summer is the Ashes

The Ashes...oh, you mean that series where you just give us a trophy?

Hmm, yes, so... nothing to see here.
Currently listening to the New Zealand-Scotland 7-over game. HA! English weather won't even permit 20-20 anymore...
Also Stuart Broad, poor chap. Needs a slightly clearer head on those shoulders, or at least some fairly obvious guidance from Colly.

This is looking to be an tournament of upsets already! The Netherlands beat England and now the Windies beat Australia? Goddamn. I am seriously going to laugh at the irony if Australia and the home country both get knocked out in the first round.

Losing to the windies at the moment is almost as bad as losing the Dutch.
Not quite, though
This is why 20-20 is exciting though. Anything can happen!

Dunno where all the runs suddenly dissapeared to... SA finish on 128, and the Kiwis have 38 from 7 overs? Madness.

Sri Lanks looking very strong, as I predicted. Very comfortable win against the Windies, though the lack of Chris Gayle may well have something to do with that.

Damn, don't think they televised that here...but yeah, Sarwan and Chanderpaul are fairly good, but Gayle makes that team. They were never going to win without him. I'm really nervous about this next match though...Sri Lanka are looking mighty good. I swear, if we're knocked out in the first round...

What?! Damn you Australia and your crappy telecasts! You can never watch anything besides Rugby here. Even AFL is only played 2 games out of 8 a week
This is dark days for Australian cricket. It's like the Roman Empire though. We've collapsed, and now there's the Dark Ages. When we come out of that, though, we will be so magnificent that none can oppose us, as it rightfully should be. So mock away if you must, pommy geezers, our revenge will be sweet indeed...

Chance for England to snatch the Ashes with Australia in disarray, perhap?
