Hi all! I'm about 2/3 of the way through GotM and I think it's great. Since I live in the US, I'll be ordering the other books in the series from Canada.

One thing that is bugging the heck out of me is where is the continent of Quon Tali in relation to Genabackis? Quon is where Seven Cities and Itko Kan are, correct?

not quitte... quon tali lies south-west of seven cities (but it is attached to it). genabackis lies to the north east.

but that's not really important... just remember it is a long way away Posted Image

Well actually, Quan Tali is in an archipelago of sorts, located to the south of 7c.
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.

It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.

Not quite.
Check out the map in Return of the Crimson Guard.
You can also check out the maps of the website.
Quon Tali is a continent, the main part of the Malazan Empire.
Quon Tali is also a province ( the western part of the Quon Tali continent).
Quon Tali is also a city on the western shore of the Quon Tali continent).

I guess QT is a little bigger than I remembered, but my point was to say that it was not connected to 7C, and it was its own thing, around other islands like Malaz, Kartool, Nap, etc...

This is from the forum gallery, though I forget which book it's from. DG, maybe?

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
