Being loud:

1. Messes up the thread, so helps scum, for reasons stated earlier.
2. Means people won't vote him, as he's taking "too many risks".

In actual fact, we usually lynch mid/low posters as that is where people think the scum will be, and lynch top posters more rarely. Making it the perfect place to be. Also, scum may dislike contributing a lot, but there is a difference between contributing a lot and posting a lot.
