Don't be fooled. This is a serious place. Serious, I tell you.

Oh, and thanks for the cake Bubba. Tasty chocolate goodness :p.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Awesome party, so many cool peoples. :killingme:

And me. Plus I didn't get ejected - bonus!

Very many good pics, some of which shall be posted when I get my own place with decent broadband.

I can't help but imagine them posting these replies/comments here but not saying them in person... like Hetan goes into the house, logs on and thanks Bubba for cake, then half an hour later Bubba logs on and sees it for the first time (and then posts "You're welcome" ofc)

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Shit! I logged on hoping for stories about how much more drunk everyone else was after I left.

I must say (in a weak attempt to regain some credibility) I have not been that drunk since the last BBQ I went to about 2 years ago where I equally forgot to eat enough to soak up the vast quantity of alcohol I consumed. At that one, I backed one of my friends into a corner and ranted at him about Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman for AN HOUR! At this one, I have virtually no recollection of what I did after getting all maudlin on Hetan in the garage while everyone else played pool. I know I rescinded all responsibility for my physical welbeing to Cougar and Mrs Paleman must have done a good job of transferring me to Mr PigDog at the station because he is still talking to me this morning. Other than that, my last memory is a vague one of lying on the floor insisting someone put my shoes on for me. I am informed that Cougar did it.

I can't remember leaving so I hope I said bye to everyone. It was lovely to meet you all and I hope I wasn't too much of a drunken lush! Now I am going back to sleep as I have to type this with one eye closed to stop the room from spinning.

EDIT - oh yes! Does anyone know why I have a huge bump on my forehead?

It was great to see everyone again yesterday and meet a few new faces from around the world.

Huge thanks must go to...

Hazel & Bill for once again opening their lovely abode to a bunch of pissheads.
Jim for the lift from Cambridge to the BBQ
Liz for being the most pissed person
Dag for the fine selection of Austrian cigarettes
Pete for tending the BBQ and cooking the boerwoers to perfection

Of special note; Illy! If there was a god of chickens Illy devoured it and all its worshippers yesterday.

Cheers everyone.

Since my last post, my hangover has hit me like a 10 tonne truck. There has been vomiting. Cougar just rang me and I must thank him and Macros for holding me up for the last hour I was at the party! Not that I can actually remember it. To say that I am dreading the photos is to put it mildly. If anyone knows what I was drinking about 2 hours before I left, can they let me know so that I can avoid it for the rest of my life? If there was a shame emoticon, I would be using it right now.

That can't be true. Can it? Which dog? I want Dag to independantly verify all claims made about my behaviour last night. She is the only one I can trust!!

Now that my faculties have more or less returned (I just managed to eat a slice of bread!), I can do the polite stuff. Hetan and Mal were hugely generous having us all over yesterday. I am definitely a firm attendee for the next one. I may have learned to handle my liquor by then too. I am still insanely jealous of your garden.

I really enjoyed meeting everyone. It was brilliant to meet Morgy finally, he is a lovely chap. Baudin is the strong silent type. Sombra is a filthy devil. Macros is a gentleman. STD is not disease like after all. Paleman is very fun. Mrs Paleman is a total star. Illy is a chicken eating hero. Toby is a little cock-er-ney urchin, as expected :killingme:

Nice to see Dan, Cougar, Brood, Dag and Fid again too. Is that everyone?

And I missed this? I'm really going to have to have words with my friend about her inconveniently timed 30th birthday. Next year I hope to get to this, and I bet you'll all be on your best behaviour just to spoil my fun :killingme:

I'm totally envious of you all...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Oh my! the pics are truly EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although the photo of Cougar's arse-crack hair is more than a little disturbing - he is however writing Mr C Klein to recommend that their underwear should be tested by mad drunken Irishmen giving wedgies - the pants did not perform as well as they might have done.

I would like to say a huge huge thank you to everyone who came and ate and drank and made merry - it was awesome to see you all.
Many many thanks to Fid for his bbq work and for making the long Journey, and to Mrs Paleman for being a trooper as always and putting up with the geeks :D
Mezla was quality company - as always.

more later... still a bit hung-over :killingme:
