@Kessobahn, perhaps I would explain why, except for one thing it's actually pretty obvious, and second of all, you used a stupid internet abbreviation for 'please'.

@Korlat, thanks, I'll go read further up.

Heh. Well, telling other people to stop doing something if they're inno can quite often be a n00b killer or symp diversion. It's something that, in past games, would have got the culprits lynched quicksmart. Not only are you completely dismissing potential evidence and discussion generating posts, but you're saying that if someone keeps going after it they're scum. That just doesn't wash, normally.
By all means, say "Guys, this is ridiculous, it's getting us nowhere, let's move on", or something...but to say "If you're inno stop going after this section of posts/point/player" is scummy, and blatantly idiotic, as you're trying to push the sheeple into ignoring something. Rubs me the wrong way, and in days past rubbed a vast majority of the players the wrong way.

Anyway, my point is not that we shouldn't ignore or at least move on from the clusterfuck, but rather the specific wording that people have used. "If you're inno". Really?

Other things weird this game - people not getting more pressure for CI'ing and PI'ing. I mean..those terms have been literally flying around recently.
And also people doing the whole emo shit, *looks at Korv*, and not getting lynched.

Admittedly, this has already been brought up a bit (the Korv thing), but I'm just reading up, so noticing it. And perhaps those people who have been PI or CI'd have somethig in certain posts that points them out - I'm not readin the whole 1800 post thread, so I'm just getting people responding to quotes saying things like "can't you see he's more than likely PI?"
Which is yet more WTF?

Ruse, Galain, and Gamelon's posts around 1460 are strange. They almost seem to be both retroactive and responding almost to stuff before it happens - that's interesting, if you ask me.

To the point of Galain and Gamelon both saying "I've calmed down now" with three minutes between their posts?

Just pointing out, but Galain might be fake symping you.

i actually sent a pm to pathshaper saying, "i hate when people connect me to others on thread as if that player is scum i can see myself being purposefully killed so that the linkage is used to prove their innocence." entitled galain.

so yeah, i see that, but at the end of the day, ruse made a case and then accused me of crying when i responded to it.

@korv - i have sort of calmed down slightly, but i just want to know, did you try to be so disruptive, because to me, for two days running you have somehow made everything go to shit in a handgrenade.

OK, sorry for my outburst, I calmed down now. It was both useless and, I should say, bad play.

There's no sympage necessary to be annoyed at the vote on Gamelon. You build your game and reasoning like a house, with bricks that fit on top of the others, not like some kite flying in the wind this way or the other. HP explained not so long before why I don't look at Gamelon as a possible suspect anymore, Ruse just comes out of nowhere with a OMG he's good and still alive! vote and it irked me.

edit: missing "why"

I'm also missing exactly where these people had 'outbursts'.

Just caught up (last night's night out was very disappointing, by the way. Not a trace of a hangover).

I would have preferred the Galain lynch yesterday, but never mind. I think there's a good chance we got a symp in Ruse, but I will assume the worst for now, ie he was inno. Galain has been playing very cool - he did not rise to any bait/pressure on him, so either he's not worried or he's just very careful.

For the past day or so I've been more and more sure that Korv is scum, because he's been jumping around and hiding behind his emo-ness. However, it does seem very clear that he really did ask for the modkill, because Tapper responded to his request on-thread. Scum don't ask for modkills, so Korv became at least VPI in my eyes as a result of that.

The following post struck me when I read it. It came just after the morning scene.

well, I suppose some healer watched over the fair buttercup...

i'm off, back later. I hope that Gavin honours korv's modkill request.

Gee, you think? This feels very scummy to me. Pointing out the obvious comment about an NK has always been a typical scum tactic. It lets us think you're trying to make sense of what happened, when in fact you know exactly what happened because you tried to kill the guy.

In fact, Serc (who I'm also starting to think is Kess's symp as well) also did a very similar thing:

View PostPath-Shaper, on May 8 2009, 01:53 PM, said:

"So, they killed a villager, but what happened at night?"
"Let's see, shall we?"

--- around the ruins of Max' hovel ----

Several shapes are sitting around a fire, when all of a sudden, several other dark shapes rush them. Figures start running everywhere, left, right, center, and the yelling wakes up the entire village, villagers coming out of their hovels, waving pitchforks and stabbing wildly, getting in one another's way. The raid is finished soon, and its success remains to be seen, but when dawn breaks, somewhere, a man grieves for his love.

Tellan (Malaese) is dead. He was of the town.

edit: it is now day.

Not surprised but looks like we still have a healer alive, thankfully.

Side note, "a man grieves for his love" seems like... Tellan was Buttercup and not Ampelas?

Added to this is Kess's virtual insistence that Korv should keep pushing for modkill, after it has become pretty clear that he is most likely inno. Scum play, trying to get rid of the guy who would be hard for him to lynch.

vote Kessobahn

Hmmm, I just realized something, it's that there's nothing in the rules that says the symps can't be paired

Just putting this out there to mess with the killers' brainz. :p

Omtose has a good point with the modkill clarification of Korvalain by the mods.

Then again, maybe they never got a request from Korvalain but got fed up of the other players' PMs asking if they will kill the bugger and they basically said "no, he did nothing that deserves modkill" on thread. After all, modkill is not something you "request" normally.

I'll have to see if I can find something on Anomandaris other than his fake-sounding "breakdown" once he realized he voted for an innocent. He's been putting lots of cutesy posts yesterday, these I remember, but I'll check if there's actual opinion/content in them of if he was just hanging around until the rest decide what to do.

Being the week-end, I'll be in and out, but I'll do it at least before I decide to vote.

Actually, modkills are often requested by players without enough time - I've had to do it a few times, as have others. Heck, we probably get more modkills from lack-of-time requests, than we do from anything else.

@Omtose, I do intend to try, though I've still got stuff to do. :p

Anyway. I'm out for now.

Har, just noticed I'd left this reply open in another tab. Will post now before bed.

To the douche trying to strawman my posts about the vote on Serc. I said I was desperate for a lynch. There about 4 out of 12 votes with 6 minutes to go or some shit. So I removed my vote, not wanting to be called for trying to fake participation. Seriously, if you can't read, you need to learn. You also seem to forget about context. My post in response to Kesso WAS me getting back on the pile-on-pile-off. He made a response that made sense, which I'd also considered as I clicked the "submit post" button.

Anyway. I'm busy. Not my fault you guys post several thousand replies that I then like to at least try and read up on before commenting.

your back, mockra. only gonna respond to one piece cause i aint got time, but you said ruse, galain and myself all mentioned stuff yet to happen, whereas ruse made a case on what i was supposedly going to do down the line so i called it a ridiculous case as a result.

OK, so the way I see it there are three possible scenarios that explain there only being 1 kill last night:

1) A healer healed Ampelas
2) There are two killer teams, and both independently targetted Tellan
3) One of the killer teams is in fact a team of one, and was guarded last night

Have to say I'm leaning towards explanation #2.

I also feel like the game has reached a critical juncture. WCS, in my opinion, is that there were 4 killers and 2 symps at the beginning of the game (which fits the 3:1 inno-to-scum ratio), and we haven't hit any of them. So if we lynch wrong today, with two NKs we'll be down to 12, and the scum win. I'm hopeful that we've hit at least one symp at some point, but I still feel it's very important we get it right today.

Hmm, is there a day timer still?

It's almost 24 hours passed and we barely had any discussion. It's spring cleaning here, and I didn't have much time to play.

I'm pretty sure there's a freeze on. Really annoying as weekends are the only times I can spend much time playing the game.

I come back to this post:

View PostAnomandaris, on May 7 2009, 02:35 PM, said:

Right I am so mad now I am actually shaking and I don't know who I am more angry at $£&**(% Tellan or myself.

I swear I honest to goodness thought Tellan was a finder. He makes a post saying find three times or some such crap, then goes mysterious on Liosan and then voted him with a wafer thin case. I am so mad that I fell for that crap. I am not an agressive player...in fact I am not aggressive at all. I never lose my temper but I could wring his neck. I mean what the hell...why create such a storm over such total arrghhhhh. *&(()*&*%^%%$^%*(. It was his stupid case that caused us to lose a lynch. I was so freakin pleased that I had spotted something to help (dare I £$%^ say it) the town, and now I look like a total idiot or worse. £$%^, £$%^, £$%^, £$%^.

Vote Tellan

Hell he probably isn't even scum, but I swear I will vote for him at least once a day as long as the both of us survive.

*breathe, breathe, breathe* and now I will go and have another calmer read and post something less emotional.

£$%%^&**&^&^%$%£" - (You really have no idea how mad I am - seriously. I hate this game. The once I thought I had figured something out on my own. £$%^)

Anomandaris had voted Liosan, who got NKed, turned out inno. And here is Ano's "anger" of having voted Liosan.

Look at the post, all there @$!#% everywhere as if the person is raving mad and just posting without thinking. Yet look, there's the underlined/italic part which takes time to make, grammar and orthograph are perfect, so I doubt that post was written with the state of mind described in it.

And then the vote. I asked why he felt Tellan deserved a vote:

View PostGalain, on May 7 2009, 02:38 PM, said:

That's a lot of piss from Anomander just for being "tricked" into voting for an inno.

Did you have this post prepared knowing you'll kill Liosan, big boy?

And yet:

View PostAnomandaris, on May 7 2009, 03:18 PM, said:

And Galain I never meant to imply I was tricked. I was seeing something that wasn't there, but out of desperation because I know I'm not this 'out there' player. I am simply not an aggressive person - which makes me crap at mafia cases. OMG, I need to go and eat, perhaps it's my blood sugar or something.

One other point I NEVER lie or mislead about RL. That's why I disappeared after my Lio vote. I went to bed, just like I said I was.

At the time, Gamelon and I were pressuring Korvalain because it was quite obvious he was involved in outing Tellan as roled. Emurlahn then also voted Tellan. Not sure what this means, just putting it there for future reference if it turns out to be a good lead.
