Of course you could, which only furthers the lulz. 4chan would have field day laughing at the first idiot who actually does it and gets caught. Then he goes down in chan history for being a loser and becomes an over night meme.

The difference between internet hero and real world is that I doubt any of those guys are actually doing it. It's all fun and games in the world of anonymity. Get caught doing that in the real world...?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

That's thing, the common user would never do that.

But then there's that 16 year old kid who doesn't have any business being on 4chan in the first place. He doesn't realise the problems he could get in and posts them to be cool. Then he gets caught and his life is ruined and people on /b/ are laughing.

Better a juvenile than an adult. Kid gets juvie... adult gets the book thrown at them.

To be fair, you have to be pretty stupid to realise there would be no consequences to posting a fake poster saying a building is infected with a deadly disease, especially one that is turning into an epidemic.

Haven't you ever been to 4chan? It's fucking crawling with idiots, craving recognition from a mass hellbent on not caring.
Legalise drugs! And murder!

Might want to throw a "pretending' in there somewhere. Like at the intersection of "a" and "mass". That'd work.

No, I've never been there, but your point is taken. Some people will do anything for recognition.

LOL 4 chan is an experiment gone perfectly wrong. The odd thing is its like the Mr Smith complex.

The law can catch one or two of them but the page as a whole is a law unto itself. Honestly there are tons
of people that want access to that raw power, its the allure of a hive mind that cares for nothing in particular
other than its own achievements...Sad in a Ultimate web creation kinda way...

Its almost like a way of expressing the web related freedom nations like north korea and china struggle to have...

(no offence to said countries though)
