I saw Red Eye the other day... good idea, and not too bad a film... could have been a lot worse methinks...All my friends went to see Cinderella Man, which I saw in the States and thought was amazingly boring. They all loved it...

I am going to Serenity Monday night with a whole crew of browncoats. We might even get obnoxious and sing the theme song.
Also looking forward to A History of Violence. The reviews are ecstatic about this film.
Pitch Black - great little B movie but best part is the "it looks clear" exchange.
Last of the Mohicans - I have seen it about 15 times and it never gets old. The last 15 minutes are just incredible.

Has anyone already seen 'The Bothers Grimm'? Seems to be a cool movie, at least the setting, the director and the cast (Monica Bellucci ) are promising...

When does Serenity come out? That looks like a pretty cool film.

In the US, Serenity comes out today.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I saw Four Brothers, which was rather mediocre.
And i saw a history of violence. Dunno what to make of it. It tries to be profound but the material is too thin really. Theres some action but not enough to make it an action movie. And at the very end it becomes a comedy for 5 minutes. Finally, you get to see maria bello naked for no reason whatsoever. If someone who saw it could explain what that shot is doing in there. Thatd be one mystery of the universe solved.
I did learn something, though. Sex on stairs is painful... and funny.
However, the trailer for domino looks quite cool. Im pretty sure tony scott and mickey rourke can make up for keira knightley.
And the serenity trailer looks like loads of fun. And its getting great reviews.

not just him, but all the men in that film
watched land of the dead yesterday. it was a good film with the exception of a bit of a crappy ending. BUT, i was happy to see that the zombies were actually eating the people (instead of biting them and making them infected like in many other films i'v seen). jumped through the whole film and by the end of it my left arm was a bit numb. have to admit that land of the dead has been the only film that has caused me to have quite an uncomfortable nights sleep (dont ask why)
anyhoo, i liked it:D

I urge all of you to go and see Serenity. I even registered here to tell you that . I've been a fan of Joss Whedon (writer and director of Serenity) for quite some time and also discovered Erikson about a year ago or so. I must say that Erikson's books are probably the closest to Whedon's work on paper I've ever read. Of course I don't have that much time to read anymore which is a shame. Nevertheless, I found many similarities in their work. So, if you like Erikson (as you probably do or what else would you be doing here?), you're very likely to fancy this little movie as well.
So, everybody to the cinema.

Woo, I saw the Serenity movie last night. It truly and righteously rocked. If you haven't seen the Firefly episodes, enough is explained that you can catch up pretty quickly. But the emotional payoff for those who saw the series or DVDs is far greater. It's a dark movie, a funny movie, a very fast-moving movie. I wish the last three Star Wars had this much joy and energy, not to mention characters this believable. And don't wait until it gets to DVD, you really want to see this on the big screen.
Only disappointment, they didn't play the theme song. We had ten people and we were primed to be obnoxious and sing along. On second thought, it's probably just as well.
Which reminds me, I saw Fellowship of the Ring the day it opened. It was an afternoon matinee, and 75% of the audience was men between 30 - 55, all in business casual. In other words, baby-boomers who read the books and had been praying for the movie since they were 12 years old. As soon as Frodo asks what the writing on the ring was, this low chant rises up from the theater audience "One ring to rule them all..."

I saw History of Violence last night... I think I agree with Fool on some points, as in why is she randomly naked for those two split seconds? It doesn't make sense? But I did enjoy the raw brutality of the violence, that you don't see much of in films today - you can have a huge shooting scene and no blood to be seen. I think it was pretty powerful, though the sex on the stairs scene was completely unecessary, and I just laughed through it, though I'm fairly sure I wasn't meant to...
I thought it was good though.
I will see serenity at some point soon, every time I see an advert for it, I want to see it more.
@Dagger - I was probably one of those people chanting about the one ring!

Recently I have watched Adaptation, The Incredibles, Old Boy, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Day After Tomorrow and something else I can't remember.
Adaptation wasn't that good. It was good but not quite right and I can't work out why.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre was absolute RUBBISH! Now, I'm a total wuss, everything scares me, but I laughed long and hard at this one.
Day After Tomorrow is pretty good when you're in the mood for cliched mindless plot and special effects. Guessing what's going to happen next is good fun with this one.
Old Boy was good. I won't watch it again now I know the ending but for a one time see, it was very good.
The Incredibles wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Not nearly as good as Toy Story 1 and 2.

Saw serenity.
Yeah, its pretty darn good (especially compared to star wars), but its not as good as some people will have you believe.
The fight scenes coulda been a lot better and some things dont really make sense.
The soundtrack was pretty damn cool, though. In fact, it woulda been even better if they used more folk. Reminded me of cowboy bebop. In fact, the whole movie did.
I also saw the doom trailer. Casting chris vaughn (or whatever the rock's real name was) seems like a pretty good idea. And i wondered how they got charlize theron to play in aeon flux. Is EVERYONE doing comic book adaptions now.
And i wanna see domino.
