There's plenty that look decent, or even good, but nothing that makes me go "Wow!" Most of the movies coming out will wait for dvd.

Don't bother with Prince Caspian, I watched it on a streaming site a while ago, and it was just like the first one. Bunch of kids and hairy beasties running about in the forest for one and a half hour playing soldier before the author deus ex machinas the story and everything is wrapped up in a nice little bow.

I, on the other hand, really loved the Narnia books, and Prince Caspian was my joint favourite, along with The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. So if the story is the worst you can say for it, I'll take my chances:)

The forcefield thing was the explaination for why magic weapons can hurt him, they're meant to bypass the field entirely. But they fiddle with Superman's powers all the time, he gets affected by power creep and gets retconned back down whenever he gets too strong for the better stories, so I may have missed the latest retcon. I'll go check.

Anyway, I heard that in the original draft for Hancock, he wasn't so nice, but actually stalks someone's wife, trying to wreck her life and get her interested in him. It was apparently a really damn dark script, and it would have been pretty interesting. But then they got Will Smith, so it got turned to awesome instead. Easy come, easy go.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

You're probably right on both counts. This is kind of a crappy summer for movies. Nothing coming out that makes me excited to go see it.

WHAT?!?! The Dark Knight is out in July!!!! I'm looking forward to that. The Escapist is meant to be really good and I want to see Prince Caspian and Hancock too. Plenty to see RLY :(

Can I request someone interested makes a seperate thread for the superhero geek-out? This is one of my favourite threads and it's getting a bit cluttered.... pretty please

We've stopped now. And there's a Comics thread for that sort of thing.

The Escapist is a British film starring Brian Cox (who's a British acting institution). It's out this weekend in the UK. He's a convict who finds out his estranged daughter is sick so he hatches a plan to ..... escape!! The lead role was written with Cox especially in mind and he's supposedly brilliant in it. Reviews say it's good, but who knows if you can trust reviews!!

Sounds like one of the by-plots of Prison Break. :( Which I love, so that's all good.

Hope to go and see Wanted this week... Keyboard face smashing ftw!

Just introduced my housemate to the joy that is Beverly Hills Cop. She was impressed, and I really enjoyed watching it again.

I watched The Forbidden Kingdom last night. It was great fun. Although the white kid kinda ruined the experience a little bit.

They are, however, martial arts movie legends. It's a shame they didn't come up with a good movie for them to in together. i haven't seen it myself, but have heard nothing good.

As long as we see them fight each other, I don't care

Does that actually happen though? The previews made it look like they were on the same side.
