Stanger than Fiction was such a disapointment. It could have been loads better. It wasn't a hideously bad film, but the concept was so clever and could have been way funnier...

Maybe I'll actually go to the cinema to see Iron Man...a rare occurrence indeed. I haven't been to the movies since, well...Superman Retards. And I wasn't happy I spent $10 to see that.

@Zanth----Don't get me wrong, Ferrell can still make me shit my pants laughing, but sitting through more and more 90 minute sessions of "Dumb ass hits the jack pot in underdog story" has gotten old.

Just been to see In Bruges. Best film I've seen all year, I highly recommend it. Hilariously funny and a really good plot. I think chaps will find it slightly more funny than ladies. It's a British film so it might be a while until it's out elsewhere. Basic plot premise is that two Irish hitman have to hide out in Bruges after a hit goes bad, and there are midgets. Colin Farrell has finally made a good movie! Seriously, go and see it and if you don't enjoy it, you can negative rep me

EDIT ~ oh yes, and I saw a trailer for Doomsday. It's looks like Mad Max in Scotland! This is what happens when plague victims are locked behind a wall with only Irn Bru and lard to sustain them. I really want to see it, it looks so wrong yet so terribly right!

I would go and see it, but my "straight" housemate, who is a nearly 20 year old virgin that often gets women in his bed but then somehow manages not to sleep with them, admits to fancying Colin Farrell. So he would insist on coming (in more ways than one) and would ruin things by breathing heavily whenever he came on screen.

It'd be SWAT all over again.

Seen Iron Man today - liked it. I wouldn't put it up with the likes of Batman Begins and X-Men 2, due to a lack of tension mostly, but it's certainly a quality debut. Lots of fun.

Just got back from seeing Iron Man.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. Oh. My. God.

THAT is what I call a fucking AWESOME film. :DBest film of the year by miles. It was funny, the acting was great, the graphics and effects were brilliant, and the storyline was awesome- big enough to entertain you, but not so big that the next movie has to be ridiculously far fetched to top it. Which is where X-Men 3 went wrong IMHO. Althought o be fair that still kicked arse.

I'm going to see it again this week. Awesome.

And I love Nick Fury. Again, what a cast.

Watched half of Juno and I have to say it is very funny/entertaining...

probably try and finish the 2nd half tonight.

i am kinda of disturbed by the how young she looks and the whole preg thing...(should I be attracted to her, should I not be ect ect. )


I watched the Mist the night before last and That was a pretty good movie IMO. those spiders were the creepiest thing I have seen in a long time...

The monsters were very lovecraftean imo... and I couldnt help but notice the dark tower/gunslinger/clint eastwood painting at the beginning.

Also on a side note that was interesting

the mother who left at the beginning actually survived and saved her kids, you see her drive by in the soldiers convoy at the end... you could probably have a another movie just on that story within a story.

I wanted to see In Bruges quite some time ago but work has kept me away. I'll check it out.

Yeah Pan's Labyrinth is a beautiful and disturbing film all at once! The kid in that is excellent and I normally don't like child actors cos they can be very annoying (see School of Rock... )

I saw Speed Racer, on IMAX no less, last Friday. And here's a review I agree with.

All I can add is that things such as plot, acting and screenplay are meaningless when a film is so beautifully designed and shot and is also so resolutely and determinedly silly.
