I spent Easter getting pissed. It's a good holiday. Later, my vomit will be a mixture of yellow lager and brown chocolate. Happy days.

Had an awesome Easter day - we had a sweet church service this morning, very cool. Got a bunch of free chocolate too! Then I spent the whole afternoon with some good friends drinking beer and eating very good food. Awesomeness.
Also, Jesus is alive!! That's what makes Easter all the more great.

can someone please explain to a non-westerne, how you guys came to associate Easter with a rabbit that lays chocolate eggs?

I'm lactose intolerant, so I got a bar of dairyfree chocolate.

I believe that when the catholic church was attempting to assimilate the 'pagan' peoples, they decided it would be easier to celebrate their official church holidays on the same days as the pagans they were converting by the sword.
That is why christmas is on the winter equinox, and easter is on the spring equinox.
I think. I would imagine some other people could answer in a better and more factual fashion.

The rabbit and the egg are both symbols of fertility according to Wiki, and as Easter is celebrated at the spring equinox (in the northern Hemisphere), the symbolism relates to that holiday. The rabbit and the egg are completely unrelated to the Resurrection (except arguably the egg).
