What's all this about then? What's the connection between the Seguleh and the Tyrant, and who's the Tyrant?

Seems you're a little out of the loop, but I will try.

Do you remember the pickled Segulah? The ones in the barrels? Bridgeburners found them under K'rul's Bar, I believe. Anyway, Thousands of years ago Darujhistan was under the rule of a tyrant (whether if be a Jaghut or not we know not). But I think there is a chapter preface that talks about the successive line of Tyants ruling the Daru's. As it goes, the first Tyrant was a real nasty piece of work. But then he died, or was imprisoned if you think it was Raest. So, after this first ruthless Tyrant we had several more, finally ending with a female Tyrant who seemed to be not so bad. She reigned over Darujhistan abour 1,000 years ago.

It has been implied that the Segulah are the army that will either make or break the "new" Tyrant. As in, they're going to help him take over, or they've been training for these past few thousands of years to mess this Tyrant's world up when the Tyrant decides to show his face.

We can only speculate right now on who the Tyrant is and what their connection is to the Segulah.

As far as I can tell, I'm leaning toward it being Raest. Pretty sure he'll escape the Azath, even if it is in the body of a reanimated cat.

Hope that did an okay job of answering your question. Somebody else will come along and give more info. BUt, if you look around a little bit, maybe on the Dust of Dreams forum, you'll find a thread discussing exactly what you want to know.

I agree with Jumpy on this. From what I can tell the Seguleh have a purpose we will soon know about in the next two books. More than likely involving another Tyrant whether for good or evil. I believe it may even involve the K'Chain Che'Malle since I think I remember they are on another continent fighting, could be wrong on this.
