Hi all! New to this board so bare with me please!

Not sure if this has been asked/answered before but I can't find it in my searches.

First, what is magical about Legana Breed's sword (the one he gives to Stormy)?

And second, why did he HAVE to give the sword to Stormy in the first place? Was it because he simply couldn't take it through the rent with him?

thanks for your help!

I'm sure Legana Breed could have taken it with him, but it wouldn't have been much use in the Rent anyways. Perhaps if he hadn't given it to Stormy, the other T'lan Imass would have taken it and put it in the flint caves with other fallen Imass' weapons, such as we see in HoC. In any case, it seems that Legana, like Onrack, is not as dutiful to the Ritual of Tellann as most T'lan Imass (this makes sense, they are both clanless). The other T'lan Imass fully expected Legana to just go into the Rent and never come out.

As for the sword, I'm not sure it's magical aside from the usual T'lan Imass sword magic that keeps it sharp and prevents it from shattering. Is there anything to indicate that it is more magical?

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I think it's just a random T'lan Imass sword. But that still makes it a powerfull weapon, probably chops through magic, elder beings and pretty much anything else indiscriminantly.

But there is a reason to why Stormy got the sword. Can't remember if this was revealed in BH or RG so I'll spoiler it. Not a big spoiler or anything

Let's see if that statement gets the same "OH HELL NO" that mine got.

<-------- Curious, now. Actually, I said it the DoD or TtH threads, so maybe it won't.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Why would it? It's a fact.

I'm talking about the second notion, not the first, which is self-explanatory.

That's from tBH, so no need to spoiler it. Yeah, Legana Breed calls Stormy a SA... once.

Is it true? Is there any connection to passing through Kurald Thyrllan, or is it something to do with how they used to worship Fener, or is it neither?

These questions cannot yet be answered...
