I couldn't take it seriously...I love him in Galactica and he beats Lorne Greene or whatever his name was at Adama hands down, but at the UN...Nah!

A bit longwinded but a good point. He had that audience in the palm of his hand.

@Frookenhauer The point he made remains valid. He just powered it up a bit.

I love how Mary McDonnell immediately reacted in a slightly surprised way when she agreed with 'Adama'.

Here was me thinking Mary McD's facial expression was shitty acting, it seems a permanent fixture.

But that aside, A reasonably well thought out speech with a good message behind it

The point made was fantastic...so say we all and all that, but really...I would much preferred Bob Geldof to have promoted the idea. But that's just me and I was not the target audience and he did indeed have the audience in the palm of his hand. And if it gets the message out there...great.

Bob Geldof simply couldn't deliver that message in any way that wasnt completely ridiculous.

"Look, you dont FUCKING understand, .............

Seriously, nobody who doesn't watch reruns of the making of liveaid actually knows who the hell Bob Geldorf is. Worlds most overrated mediochre celebrity.

Only slightly less annoying than Bono.

I last saw Bob Geldof in a bank commercial.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

So say we all indeed! He was a little fantastical and long winded but the message was spot on! He did have the attention of everyone in that room! Extra props for tying Battle Star Glactica into a message of such relevance and not having it seem out of place. I agree it wouldn't have been the same coming from Bob Geldof. That was fantastic, thank you for posting it.
