Seems we have to wait till some players of 4.0 are dead...
Isn't there someone else who would like to play?

Standard, and you are drafted now :o.

I will do the draw for nations tomorrow.

I suggest we start officially on monday, till friday, giving you all a good chance to diplome with everyone.

After that, I suggest that resolutions will be twice a week, on midweek days - no weekend resolutions - tuesday and friday, I'd suggest. Retreats and builds have to be in within 24 hours, in PM. Anything not in in time will be left to resolution by the program.

For moves, the three strike thingie goes - losing a strike means postponing the game to the next standard resolution (tuesday to friday, etc).

Feel free to PM me thoughts, plans, hopes, gloats and evil snickering.
I'll see if I can amass a little library with amusing posts and quotes until after the game.

The only variant I found with seven players was Colonial. Looked kind of interesting I'd say.

Edit: Ah.. update is good now and then

Colonial is massive. The map has that much supply centres you quickly get lost if playing in real life. :p
With Realpolitik however it's probably manageable.

yeah, well, I'm playing anything really. We'll just have to avoid the problems we had with dip 2.0 which turned out to be ridiculous.

hmm.. I'm looking at the Colonial board.. IT looks fun and chaotic, though not perhaps quite as balanced as standard. It will also demand a lot more when it comes to upholding deadlines than standard. On the plus side, it should be completely different. I've only seen one power I'd rather not play, and no, it's not Turkey :p

mind you, don't feel any of you that i'm just strolling in here and trying to take over. Im well willing to play standard too, I just liked the look of the colonial thing.

The draw:

DiBs - France
Morgoth - Austria
HoosierDaddy - Russia
Tira - England
Grief - Turkey
TT - Italy
Macros - Germany

Colonial seems cool, but HD is entering his first game so I'd prefer if we kept it all nice and simple.
I also don't know if RealPolitik can handle the Trans-Siberian Express or whatever the Russian special rule is called.

<----- Pleased.

Good :p

Everyone has been notified by PM of their country and the playerlist, so I see no reasons not to start the game.
I'll try and get access to the Arbitrator alt for judging the game.

You'll have until friday 27 march, 10 PM CET (9 PM GMT) to diplome and submit your orders.

Just wanted to say that despite my ignorance this is extremely fun. And, I never actually realized that it was the diplomacy part that is entertaining as opposed to Risk-esque maneuvering. So much fun. Thanks ladies and gentlemen (until you stab me in the back and I curse you)!

Wait till you see the immense satisfaction of a plan coming togther, not just leading to the agreed results, but also setting in motion the nefarious plans you made behind the scenes :snigger:
