Hurrah! two weeks is nothing...The vest spent two weeks with the US customs while they tried to work out whether it was a vest shaped weapon of mass destruction :D

I am too lazy to read this whole thread. Well, I was going to read the whole thing but I didn't even get to the part where Frookie actually wears the stuff before I got bored.

I just wanted to congratulate Tehol on her efforts to help the forum men become more secure in their masculinities. That is all.

Not wanting to rain on your parade an' all, Terez. But wearing a pink item of clothing does not have to be a sign of a man who's secure in his masculinity. You may be indulging in a little stereotyping of your own there. *tut tut*

Some men, I know a few, actually just think that wearing pink suits them.

Sometimes a cigar really is just a cigar.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. All the same, there are limits....a pink shirt is fine, but you wouldn't wear pink socks would you?

WOULD YOU?!

I wouldn't wear any color socks except for white or black.

That's one thing I noticed when I was in Europe. Colored socks. Lots of people wear them over there. I only went to Vienna and Amsterdam but those are pretty touristy places so I met lots of people from all over, and it seems to be a widespread European thing.

Here, only children wear colored socks usually. White or black socks with embroidered designs on them are popular, but mostly only among young women. Also, older ladies seem to have a thing for wearing outfits that are matching (like, lime green capri pants with shirt and shoes to match) but even they seem to wear white socks.

If you go to a Walmart or some general sort of sock-purchasing place, 90% of the socks will be either solid black or white (maybe colored heels/toes), and the other 10% will be the embroidered kind (even men wear those for the dark dressy stuff). In the women's section you might find a Hanes variety pack of colored socks, but it's highly unlikely I think.

i'd say dark blue socks are also a possibility.

however, on most days you can't really tell them from black socks.

and you're lucky to find a matching pair of socks anyhow, ESPECIALLY if you've just put the whole load through laundry...

Yeah, I thought I had included the possibility that you might find some dark navy socks in the men's section, but apparently I did not. I'm ADD like that.

What about woollen red socks? For cold winter nights. I've got five pairs. :wallbash:
