I haven't really played AW online yet, so that's news to me.

But you fall into the category of being more than capable of weeding campers out anyway, netcode quirks or not. XD

Nah. My KD has fallen quite a bit in this one, and fallen even further as I work towards getting diamond guns.

To be fair, camping is actually a perfectly valid strategy. It's not great for actually getting good at the game, and it's pretty much only effective against players who don't know how to get you out of your spot (assuming the map isn't horribly broken).

Still, it's annoying as hell if someone keeps interrupting an otherwise successful game by sniping you from a camping spot to get a few cheap kills.

That being said, my main objection is that it's usually a result of the maps being far smaller than what you'd normally encounter snipers in, that makes it annoying. Doesn't leave as many options as you should have for dealing with them.

Actually, in the current COD, camping is not an effective strategy, as with their current netcode, you have some time to see them and hit them before they even see you are on their screen.

The only real way to camp in this game is area denial, and that is only effective on 2 maps I can think of.

Or you play against shitty people who are shit and suck. As I get older, my reflexes are going, but I can still run and gun and go positive against an entire team of campers.

3 maps I think.

Instinct: lying prone in the shadows on top of the ruins.

Detroit: In the scaffolding above the street.

Korea: Inside the residential end housing area above the door on a ledge.

Korea? WTF map is that?

You have to do area denial. A single person camping will get absolutely killed the second you go back.

Instinct you can camp the bottom side. You have 2 watching the long stone stairs/path next to it. 2 watching the temple, and two watching the curved stone stairs and the path next to it.

And then Detroit you can watch the center road, the parking lot side, and the hospital side.

"Greenband" is a highrise park in Seoul, South Korea. Sorry the name of the map escaped me.

Everyone camps the resteraunt in that, up high. Go in and shoot a missile beyond the fireplace and spray at the hanging down ledge thingy.

Yeah, I think I've seen people doing that.

I wish I could find a good picture of that room to link. There are 3 places (4 if you count actually in the elevator) that people are going to be. It's pretty easy to clear out since there are 4 entry points to the room, and none of those places can even SEE all 4 at once, much less cover.

Wow that's all foreign language to me atm. It ll take awhile before I get comfortable with the suit to go PVP again.

For sure I ll camp with my sniper esp on Control matches. It's fun plugging people in the head while they stand there taking over spot. Even more so if you get them twice and they catch on and then they start hunting me but then I plug them again when they try to come from a different angle lol. Fun fun

That's cute.

I'm so far behind the curve, I just bought BlOps 2 two weeks ago.

Anyone playing the black ops 3 beta and have impressions on it? I've watched a little bit on YouTube and am waiting for Xbox beta, but it looks promising.

It was only $50 with Amazon prime so I did a quick preorder to try the beta. If the game sucks, I'll cancel that preorder. If not, I get the game a little bit cheaper.

Most of the specialist abilities are taken straight from destiny :p

Titan Smash, Golden Gun, Rez to name a few.

*** Thread Necro ****

So, I dropped the COD series after Blops 2. The minor iteration of the games and the failed attempt (imo), to implement "future warfare" game mechanics just didn't do it for me anymore.

With that said the title of the upcoming release, Call of Duty: WWII, has piqued my interest. I then saw a demo by IGN of some of the weapons you can use in COD WWII and my interest was piqued even more. So, I was wondering, are there any of you gamers who dropped the series going back in to try this title? Are there any of you devoted fans who have stuck with it more excited about this upcoming title then you have been for any of the more recent titles?

Not been interested in it since they nerfed the grenade launcher, and made men fly. Used to be the go to game for me and my friends. In fact, multiplayer died for me since then. BF1 peaked our interest for a few weeks but nothing proper.

I'll consider taking a look, even if I am likely to be disappointed and end up complaining about lack of historical accuracy in the weapons. XD

But it's been long enough since I played a CoD that it might not be too iterative.

I saw they are implementing this "social space" called "Headquarters". I guess it's like "The Tower" in Destiny. There will be "era appropriate" emotes? Uh, does that mean nazi goose stepping and the heil salute? Oh boy, that will stir up some controversy in today's hyperbolic environment.

It's funny though how something new is presented in games, has some success and then starts to show up in more and more games. I guess that is how the progression of video games goes. A developer takes a chance and if it is met with positive response all the other developers jump on board and implement it in their games.
