[Slow Ben]

I was having a nostalgic moment on my drive home today, listening to stuff from high school.

2 bands i used to love back then. Everclear and offspring, used to love that stuff. They were both pretty gritty and just played, imho, great friggin music. But i stopped cause it seemed they both got too popular and started playing just that, pop music.

Everclear. Sparkle and Fade was one of my favorite cd's back then. Loved "Heroin Girl", "You make me feel like a whore", and "Santa Monica" were great. The rest just didnt interest me at all. "video killed the radio star". couldnt stand it.

I thought Offspring was even worse. they were great up through "smash", some great songs on that cd. then came "Inxne on the hombre".

Totally agree with Everclear, "Sparkle and Fade" is my official summer CD, as soon as the weather warms up, it goes in. "So much for the Afterglow" was good, but after that...WTF???

Something about the Offspring has always gotten on my nerves, I don't hate them, but could never listen to a whole CD. One song at a time they can be amazing...

I thought Ixney was still pretty good, after (and including) Americana they only ever had one or two good songs on any given CD.
