I can't take it anymore. Every time I see a "The Ladders" commercial I want to find some puke trust fund baby and punch them in the face. "100K jobs for 100K people." Pitch forks and torches are the prescription to your insipid infection.

For those with no clue, here's the least offensive one. You'll rot with all the others just the same.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

So, this is a thread where we point out that Hoosier has lost his sense of humor?

Funny commercial is funny.

Eh, that was a bad choice. I didn't want to search very much. The commercials aren't meant to be funny for anyone but the "100k talent".

Different commercial: Titled, "When you let everyone play, no one wins."

Maybe I just don't like smarmy supposed "upper-crust" assholes.

As someone pointed out on Youtube, it's a pretty offensive marketing strategy.
And so the First denied their Mother,
in their fury, and so were cast out,
doomed children of Mother Dark.

Which is why I'm pretty offended by it. People with bloated egos who think they are better than everyone else? I've seen them quite a few times, and I finally just thought, "that's it." I'm going to use my rage to make a thread on an internet forum about this and bitch. :p

I'd be on The Ladders, but I guess they refuse to publicize male escorts.

Huh, that's the first I've seen of those ads...at least they're original.

I don't anticipate I'll ever be making a 100k a year though....most people don't.

Whats wrong with getting 100k+ jobs? I'm pretty far away from there at the moment, but want to be heading in that direction and sharpish.

What is it with people? You can't make a stand on anything without some people getting offended...Actually that's exactly what happens when you make a stand on anything, but I digress.

There is a plethora of companies that recruit people for jobs in all walks of like and at every level. This Ladders company is specialising in the top level. I don't blame them, that's where the real commission is for recruiters.

I bet you a few pounds that the sort of people that don't get offended by these ads are the people that are close...if not already there. Not everybody is created equal and people should bloody well get used to it :p

I don't have a problem with the idea of the site. It's the commercials. Did you watch them? They are smarmy and arrogant.

People are created equally, they just might not have equal talent. That certainly doesn't equal superiority in ANY sense, and that's what those commercials appeal to.

I'd have to disagree with you on the created equally thingy in a big way Hoosier old chum. People have varied skill levels and intelligence and all sorts. That's the baseline, after that it's upbringing and education and then its personality...I could go on, but I think you might see where I'm coming from by now

As for the sense of superiority? Is it because the 100k monster was bigger than all the others? :p I kid. The truth is, some people are NOT cut out for the top level jobs, but those that are KNOW that they are capable of doing so and the ads are very well put together to make sure the message gets out to those particular people. Hence the whole idea of targeted commercials.

You don't find it obnoxious. Fair enough. Most people do. It is with an arrow full of arrogance that they target people who feel they are superior. The monster one was a bad choice to begin with, the tennis one is the one that actually pisses me off.

"Some people are not cut out for top-level jobs." Who? The mentally retarded? Of course they aren't capable, but they also aren't out applying for CEO of Douchebag Inc.

Maybe the problem lies not with the ads themselves, but with those who condemn them :p

Yes, saying arrogance is bad and superiority complexes are stupid obviously makes me arrogant and superior.

Who are all these all these 100k people? I want to know their secret.

They just hired a new chancellor for the SUNY (State Uni of NY) system...she starts at around 600k, plus she gets paid housing in 2 different cities and a car and driver. Bitch.

I'm yanking your chain, but seriously, I hardly think most people are cut out to be execs. I've been in a tremendous amount of jobs during my meandering years and I've done everything from white collar office jobs to factories and I've been a courier, a taxi driver and a security guard amongst all that as well as my favourite job...Macdonalds!

I've worked with all sorts of people and if there is anything I've learned about people is this. All most people want to do is clock in get their work done and go home. They less they are asked to do, the better. They refuse to accept responsibility and only want a promotion when somebody else goes for it who's been there less time than they have :p . The average worker is a grafter, the average guy in the cubicle next to yours is also a grafter, but doesn't wear a uniform. These are not the sort of people you want running your company as a shareholder/owner...whatever.

What you want is someone who is going to bloody well get the job done and has the ability to lead. The sort of people who make effective leaders know exactly what they are capable of and are sure of themselves. What they are also aware of is that not everyone can do what they can. If this is what you call superior, then I'm afraid I cannot help you...Actually have a beer!

And so we come back to the ad and its message: "This recruitment company only caters for those who earn / want a 100k job."

I remain unoffended and I might have a look at the companies portfolio in a few years.
