Terez you just don't know when to quit.

Seriously, listen up when the moderators and admins tell you something. One request for self moderation should be all that is needed.

Stop pushing the limit. It's not cute and it gets old.

I'm just saying...it's the freaking Inn. Since when do we give a shit about derailing Inn threads? I seriously think you guys just get bored sometimes and feel the need to flex the mod muscle for no purpose, and if you're going to ban me for telling it like it is, then the point is proven even further.

See the thing is it, shouldn't be us guys and you guys. It should be a couple of members with the power to moderate and the rest understanding that somne guidelines need to be upheld. We're a community, not a schoolyard.

If you are banned, and I fully expect you to be when ever Cougar comes back, it's not because you derailed the topic or because you've been spamming. It will be because you can't take a hint. When a moderator prunes your posts or asks you, hopefully nicely, to not do something, it means STOP! It doesn't mean that you should continue just a bit further or begin bitching about it. It certainly doesn't mean that you should make a flippant reply to a stern warning. That is going to be what gets you banned.

Moderators shouldn't need to act like parents, but you're acting like an adolescent schoolgirl who feels a need to test everyone and everything, boldly post what nobody really needs to know and stick it to the man. It's stupid, Terez. Because us moderators and admins don't want to bully people, but it's not like we're just going to keep explaining ourselves if the message after numerous warnings, post deletions and prior bannings isn't getting through.

Not everyone enjoys your attitude, Terez. Personally I find you amusing but you act like you're fighting for some just cause when in fact you're just sturring up a small pond that really doesn't need such fuzz.

Enjoy your ban when it comes through. At least the Drama is entertaining for the rest.

I'm not banning her Apt, let her whine. The stuff I deleted was because discussing the various properties of the cervix is not suitable, one or two mentions, a bit of a joke, fair enough, but that started to resemble yet another tiresome opportunity for Terez to get her e-rocks off.

It's not us guys vs you guys until you guys start to impose restrictions on me that have never been imposed on anyone else before. The Inn is all about derailed threads, and has been ever since I joined. It was a clear show of mod-flex, and clearly personal.

It's because I'm not the type to sit back and go "oh okay" when a mod (or two, or three) is being an ass for no reason.

Who ever claimed that everyone did? Just because mods don't like me isn't a good reason for people to start making up new rules just because I'm involved. There have been plenty of times when the mods have said something to me and I've taken the hint. Why? Because their modding was consistent with the rules and consistent with the reality of the board. You guys just only remember the times when I DARE to defy you.

Which is fine I suppose (though of course worse things get discussed on the forum all the time, and no one seems to care) but when you first made the comment, we were talking about music schools, not cervixes. When GA posted, it was still music schools, and not cervixes. Now that I'm being defiant, it's about cervixes. Why? Why was it a big deal in the first place, when the Inn is well-known for being a random sort of place where people can't be counted on to stay on topic?

Oh, and props to Mez for her response earlier. She used creativity to incorporate our digression into her OP. That's the Way of the Inn....

To think I missed an intellectual discussion covering the merits of Bon Jovi's Cervix.
Woe is me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whilst this will likely garner me a reputation as someone who lurks under bridges devouring goats, I feel compelled to request the demon of shadow climbs down from that lofty saddle he is perilously perched on, lest he injures himself with all this heroic posturing.
Its the Inn, the mezbearpig clearly didn't mind the digression (the original that initiated the pissing contest) and joined in the rambling, with a quite witty remark actually. The spider fetish lady didn't start the subsequent cervix digression, regardless of her continuation down that path, deleting the offending posts is a simple procedure. A banning is quite simply ridiculous in this situation, I'm quite sure mezla isn't offended in the slightest by the random direction the thread took, the inn is for grins no?

I might be suspended rather than banned (since the kitty claimed he wasn't going to ban me). I don't suppose it makes much difference at the moment, since I wasn't informed of how long I was going to be suspended.

Got to say I agree with Terez on this one! Threads are consistently more derailed and with more dodgy content on a regular basis. She is only getting this treatment because of priors with the mods. Straw that broke the camels back perhaps. I won't go on because I couldn't be bothered to be a mod so don't really have a leg to stand on when it comes to criticism.

But in this case she just stuck up for how the inn operates an stayed with it. I'm in the Inn every evening and I see some outrageous shit posted and whatever she was talking about with regards to cervix wotsits is probably along the same lines. Its funny, just a little while ago I started that are we becoming less well behaved or something thread and pretty much every single person who regularly posts said bollocks to that! And now this? I understand that mods have to stick together, but I'm surprised that you backed his play Apt.

Terez is probably one of the most colourful people on here and this suspension smacks of vengeance for past misdeads.

When your suspended you should stay suspended.

Previously Hetan had just warned you, which automatically suspends you for 5 days, this may now be extended. You were suspended for repeated posts which contravened forum rules, and a refusal to self moderate, as Apt said in his post.

In the future if you have issues with the moderation policy on the board take it up with an administrator/Hetan.

If I was moderating the inn, from my brief perusal of some of the topics around some of you would have been banned some time ago, this boards primary purpose is book discussion, is recommended by the publishers and is representative of the author. Since some of his audience is under sixteen, is it too much to expect a little self moderation? There are plenty of opportunities for adult conversation elsewhere on the wide world of the internet. We're a remarkably relaxed group of moderators, I'd hate it if we had to start policing the inn try for a little self-moderation please so we don't have to kill the free wheeling nature of the place with excessive moderation.

I had the audacity to disagree with the mods, the sheer nerve to ignore them when they acted in an inconsistent manner, and the balls to respond to them with the negative attitude that they give me.

Suspended again....

Safer? If I was the type to care, I'd have kissed puny mod ass when it was demanded of me.

While I personally enjoy a bit chaos in an off-topic forum, derailment of threads and complete hi-jacks, have never been allowed. It has in the past been much more restricted when Menandore and Jennifer were active mods. You should enjoy the fact that it is cool-cats like Rodeo and Abyss who run the Inn now, because in the past such derailment would have been delt with much more harshly.

No. You feel like you're being treated unfairly because you've managed to gain the attention of every mod and admin on the board with your disregard for repeated warnings and prior bans. It's like the kid in the classroom who is always the one who laughs the loudest and makes the most noise during the class and doesn't understand why the teacher is always comming down on them and not the others.

The rest of us (yeah, me aswell, I'm a terrible spammer at times) realise when we're stepping over the line, when we write or post an image that is offensive, when we start on a subject that is actually not fit for discussion in a public forum, etc. We accept it when we're told to keep it in line. We're able to self moderate mostly.

But not you. Noooo, for you it's a personal attack. Well, you know what? You make it personal for the mods when you don't listen to them. Yes, they'll keep comming down on you when you step out of line. Why? Because you stay in the front of their mind when every time they notice someone being a nuissance or crossing a line they see you doing it ten times.

I was going to quote the rules stickied in the Inn, but I see they've been removed. Which I guess is a part of this problem.

But it should be obvious that derailling a topic is bad. What is worse is if two mods have to ask you to stop and you mouth of at them for being so rude to actually think they can tell you what you can and can not do in the Inn.

There's also a, perhaps unwritten, rule... I think it's somewhere, that people are not to start topics on/debate subjects of an offensive nature. Generally try and keep stuff on the level that any member that visits the forum won't be offended or otherwise feel bothered by the nature of the item. This also includes talking about stimulating the cervix. And again, you were just given a warning and asked to change the subject, but Nooo, you have to debate it with the mods instead of just letting it go and move on.

Me thinks we need to rules of the Inn re-stickied.

And for the record, I really aren't most serious mod there is, but when somebody needs to start making drama over the ruling of a moderator... it is a problem. The less shit we create the less active the mods need to be and the longer leash there can be on everything. Start making noise over everything and the mods are gonna become cranky.

Gods... I'm turning into Folken :harhar:

EDIT: And now after making this longwinded contradictory post I see Terez just continues the bullshit *sigh*

@ Frook - Like you say, not like me to have problem with peoples posts and I rarely do. I just have problem with a member not just listening to the mods.
