Please people, it's anime/manga. The stuff couldn't be less respectable to begin with.
The entire media(manga/anime) will within the next five years be 150% submitted to fanservice and fanfic writer/authors.
So I don't understand why this comes as a shock to anyone, or why anyone would care about such a degenerate form of media. You can't corrupt it more than it already is.

Which is precisely why it's ripe for fanfic. Or DBZ anyway - I haven't watched any other. But I would never consider writing fanfic for something that was actually written well. DBZ was written horribly, and drawn horribly, but there are some good elements in it that will be fun to play with.
