HEY! Nobody puts Baby in a corner. And, by nobody I mean Terez, by Baby I mean gay porn, and by corner I mean avatar.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Women don't exactly experience the same stigma associated with homosexuality now do they?

There's a reason for that, you know...women are about 100x more mature about lesbians than guys are about gay dudes. :p

More gayness!

There's a reason for that too.

'Cause women making out is awesome? That's my theory.

But, according to you your male friends were cool with it.

Yup, they are. But I only hang out with cool people, not immature twerps that can't even fucking laugh at the idea of gay subtext in DBZ, lol.

I've stated I'm cool with it. People here just don't like to think that characters from their childhood were ramming each other up the butt with their samurai swords, and may have nothing to do with lack of "maturity" at all.

That one might fly if not for the same reaction in countless other situations. :p

Have you ever seen women freak out and go "ewwwww" over lesbians? You might have, but I'd be surprised if it was more than one or two churchy types. You think that's because lesbians are somehow inherently more appealing? I'm sure that makes sense to a hetero guy that isn't using the right head, but come on...

Quit being serious. My serious response would be that ours is a male dominated culture, especially when it has to do with sexual relations. Secondly, male homosexuality in our culture is dominated by people that are either afraid of it because they secretly like it or because they think it somehow lessens the masculinity of the male engaged in it, and therefore they are lessened in the eyes of other males.

Or...... we could keep it fun.

You might be having fun, and I might be having fun as well, but some people aren't having fun. It's the Inn, serious discussions belong in the Discussion forum, where I think a topic on homosexuality in media might be interesting.

And, yes I recognize that your original introduction of the gay anime was for humorous purposes.

Or... we could keep talking about women who like to touch one another. That is always good fun. But certainly not men, because that is icky and makes my stomach feel funny.

Come on, there is some precedent for this being a serious discussion. But, I'll agree, this is most certainly not a captive audience.

Btw, I'm not a pushover. I just happen to like falling over when someone pushes me.

Did someone call me?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Men and women have different appeal. The appeal of men is strength and the physical ability to dominate. Most men do not feel attracted to and are intimidated by the thought of physical intimacy with someone who appears strong. Women's bodies have less hair and are more soft and supple and they are generally smaller in stature and their facial features are more childlike.
