well, we can adblock it, the way you adblock ours...
that is, if we actually cared.
I was never passionate about DBZ, so can't say i care much one way or the other....
though having to scroll down past all the spoilered text is a nuisance

You guys are missing out - I'm not saying you're missing out on gay fantasies either, lol. Just humor.
Me and the friends I used to watch DBZ with did it MST3K style, with commentary all over the place. If DBZ is anything, it is laughable - it's badly drawn, the dialogue is terrible, there are endless scenes of people doing nothing but freaking out (every time something freaky happens, they have to show EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER freaking out about it, and it's fucking PROLONGED, ugh). There are only a few things that make it worth watching:
1. The fighting. People beating the shit out of each other is awesome. Super Saiyans are awesome. The power to destroy whole universes is awesome. Accidentally destroying mountain ranges during fights is awesome, and gratuitously provided. People powering up for whole episodes is annoying because we want to see the fight but still awesome.
2. The details. Some bits of the plot, and some story props like the hyperbolic time chamber, are just cool.
3. The humor. DBZ is ridiculously stupid in some places, and easy to make fun of always. The gayness subtext is just a part of that. Maybe it was different with my friends (all straight guys) because we were mostly in our 20s when we watched it, rather than kids, but DBZ just wasn't DBZ without the gayness subtext.

Women don't exactly experience the same stigma associated with homosexuality now do they?

I fail to see the connection between a social stigma and watching a tv-series containing alledged homo-erotical elements and acknowledging those

You mean the awesomeness of lipstick lesbianism?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

There's a reason for that, you know...women are about 100x more mature about lesbians than guys are about gay dudes.
More gayness!

But, according to you your male friends were cool with it. I've stated I'm cool with it. People here just don't like to think that characters from their childhood were ramming each other up the butt with their samurai swords, and may have nothing to do with lack of "maturity" at all.
