If your gonna nominate them, you need to come up with names for them. Or they can come up with their own, either way.

Shin should be Shinobi

D'rek could be Warleader, Field Marshal, General or any other fitting with the whole war games thing.

Well hell, at least I can see this forum now.

Well done on that part.

I feel like death. Bleh.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Have I posted this before? Who can say.

I think that the cards should be interchangeable. It's nice and all for everyone to have their own cards, but I think there should be a fixed number of cards and people should be able to win them off other people if play deserves it. Decided by poll or something, obsviouly with some of those cards it would take something exceptional to win it. Others, not so much.

I disagree. That would be a level of competitiveness too many. It;s fun to compete to an extent; the MoM is a good initiative, but going too far in that direction would hurt the game I feel.

Oh, that's why. I noticed Yellow's been gunning for Khell's card for quite a few games. :D

Your spleen. My lunch.

Anyway, I wouldn't imagine people would actually play with the idea that they would want to win cards, it's just an idea. Is the best case builder still the guy who built that case in game 4? I can't remember either way, but you know what I'm getting at. Nobody wants to be the Khell of High House Mafia.

There are some solid ass Mafia players that still need names people! Get on your creative horses!

STD, Stalker, Shin, D'rek, Baudin and Sixteh should have names by now.

Without trying to denigrate those players, I would say that this is the point, no? Someone can play very well, but if nothing particular stands out, then is a card deserved? i.e. if you can't think of a card for these guys, maybe there is no card for these guys. Think of the Malazan books. Would a generally very good soldier deserve a position in a house, or does it take more than that?

I think we need to limit the cards and have people fight over them. Much more fun :bs:

I'm also the first to admit that my own card was based on like one or two games, so I'm prepared to give it up for the greater good! Let's limit the cards, get rid of the cards-for-the-sake-of-it attitude and let the great players take up a more hallowed position.

Well, I could come up with names if I wanted to. But, seeing as how I don't really care to have a card, I thought I'd leave it up to you.

D'rek - Wildcard of High House Mafia. (Cause she creates wild games and I can't get her 80's Horror play out of my head)

Shin - Mesmerizer of High House Mafia (Hard to lynch.)

Sir Thursday - Processor of High House Mafia (Very thorough and reasoned play.)

There's three. And, I don't want one. :bs: Unless it's name is Seriously? of High House Mafia. ;)

The whole point of a card is that is commemorates a player's unique accomplishment, somehtign that makes him stand out WAY above everyone else, a moment we still talk about like 20 games later.

I mean, no one will ever forget how in that first Benses game, Yellow revealed a partnered code on Day 1, getting our 2 healers lynched/killed in the process, and his PM to SH was "Seriously, that code's so obvious, it's GOT to be FAKE!"

or Vengy's play the first time he was a symp, in that game where Ishael and Obdigore were the 2 killers who didn't know each orther.

If Stalker, D'rek, or Shin haven't done anything that memorable, it's only a matter of time till they do.

You Card-Holders in your ivory towers. You don't think it might be just a "bit" harder to do something "unique" now than it was at first? Hmmmm?

not necessarily. Mafia presens numerous opportunities for both genius and stupidity.

more so now, actually. When we first started playing around with the idea of a High House, we used almost exclusively Ericksonian layout (King/Queen/Knight/Mason/Assasin/Soldier/etc)

since we've moved on from that (with roles like Decoder, Doppleganger, Ghost), the opportunities are now endless.

I suppose I'm at the opposite extreme end of Yellow's perspective, while you are somewhere in the middle. I view them as being superfluous, as everybody knows who the good players are, for the most part, and they are simply used to designate people who play quite a bit.

Look at those game numbers. Look at post 73. Then look at those game numbers again.

Edit: Evidently I'm feeling catty today. I have no idea why I'm bothering with this, lol.
