Anyways, let's see what the rest says, but giving mini-grades, or having 3 votes per player or something might give a clearer picture.

The other thing is, if you win, can you submit something anyway?
Just background or something?
Cause it could be disadvantage going into the fight afterwards with less character building than everyone else.
You don't have to, but its an option.

Im not sure with te voting method.
I think JA is probably right though, more votes, perhaps 2 or 3, would be better.

How come Yellow dropped out?

Sounds like everyone is getting writing anxiety! Me too! I started a load of entries and then scrapped them because they read like fantasy cliche's, so then I decided "if I can't beat it, might as well REALLY go with it". I need to apply some serious grey matter to my character though, I have no idea what he might turn out to be.

Anyway, sorry I took my time, I've been sick and New Jersey work just got interesting. As a judge I will reiterate on what DiBs said about positive comments on others entries! It makes for a good read, everyone has good ideas and lots of very different angles so it should make for some crazy scraps.

Tapper - Violence the Pedestrian of the Apocolypse, love the "voice overs for WWF". Great entry, nothing pedestrian about it at all

Shin - I remember reading one of your previous Deathmatches, your characters or always very novel and well written.

B the E - Left it nice and open for yourself but Shade looks mean.

Morgoth - lol! I can't wait to see the depths you drag each other through.

D'rek - Lippmer is a mystery so far.

Grief - Another badass. Glad you used the word "glided" as well, I have been wondering if it is a real word!!

Temp - You used "glided" too! Three times is a charm, it is a real word now. "Alchemist, seductress, killer", my farm boy is fucked already!

DiBs - lol again.

Alt146 - Benevolent creature gets science serum'ed into a megalomaniac killer, what's not to like!

JA - I liked "what a skilled surgeon could possibly reconstitute into an approximation of a very surprised expression"! But I don't get it, is Duke Nukem a character from something else?

Mentalist - I can't think of anything to single out for praise, it was all good!

Illy - Best single idea.

Cause - WWI fantasy is spot on, you got the tone just right.

Sir T - Also a great idea.

My vote goes to Mentalist. I can't put my finger on why I like it above the others, I just do.

Hmmm, I did put much in the way of description or back-story because I assumed everyone knew Duke Nukem, and would enjoy writing his fights.

And Illy takes the lead. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys - havent done any creative writing (other than the odd mafia scene) since I was in highschool.

Also I agree with grief (or whoever it was) that said whoever gets the bye (if Hume doesnt join) should be allowed a post or two for character development. Maybe just their character entering the stadium and sitting down to watch the first fight or something similar.
